Ttc And Stopping the Pill Early
Posted: 07-19-05 23:21pm

I recently decided to stop taking my combined ocp in hopes of ttc, but last night and all day to day have had period like bleeding. I was wondering if this means my fertility days have changed or will it stay the same. I had my orgininal period on 7/8/05 and my o day would have been 7/22, but I don't know what to think with this current bleeding. Pls help. And any advise would help.

I'm assuming when you say you stopped the pill early that you didn't finish your current pack of pills. If that's the case, i'd say what you're experiencing is normal...You made yourself have a period again (when you're on the pill your body doesn't know any different b/c it stops you from ovulating altogether). If you're actively ttc, you should chart your natural cycle for a few months first to guage when your most fertile days are & to know for sure your lmp for date of conception purposes (the doctor's office will need to know about how far along you are before your first appt). Your body will probably have a little different cycle (generally a little longer) than the 28-day cycle when you're on the pill. Hope that's of help to you!

Mandily I didnt exactly finish the pac. I took a few the forgot for about 7 pill when I looked last. I understand that this is withdrawal bleeding, but should this count as my lmp or is it just bleeding, or is it going to be a problem, so that I can figure out about when I should ovulate again. Pls help again and thank you it did help.

Well, I would probably count the first day of the withdrawal bleeding as if it were a "period" and try track your cycle based on that. I don't think it should be a problem...It may just be a little more difficult to determine ovulation this month. Otherwise you could wait until your next period and go from there.
