Think I Might Be Pregnant...not Sure. Please Comment. Posted: 07-20-05 00:54am
My names ashley im 17 and recently decided
to become sexually active. I was on birth
control for about 3 weeks but stopped
because I disliked the side effects. I
started my period the day after I stopped
taking the pills, which was june 13th. It
is now july 20th and I havent had my
period again. I have had sex , but it was
protected and the condom did not break or
leak. I thoroughly examined it
afterwards! Is my period trying to go
back to the schedule it had before the
pill or I should have had it on the 13th
like it was last month? Could I be
pregnant? Please help I cant sleep
thinking about this.Me and my partner are
both worried sick!

I'd say ur body is trying to get ur period
back on track. Doesn't sounds like
pregnancy to me. Good luck.

I had my periods after about a week late
than usual when I had the first
intercourse of my life. Maybe its the
same case with you too. From what you
have mentioned, it seems higly unlikely
that you can be pregnant. However, if
still your problem persists, I would
advise you to go and get a pregnancy
testing kit that is available in all
general medical stores.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do or
how to live your life, but being older
than you and having the benefit of
hindsight, I would say, reevaluate your
decision to become sexually active.
That's good that you used a condom, as
stds are no laughing matter. Women are
much more susceptible to getting one than
are men. But pregnancy, especially an
unwanted pregnancy is really, really sad.
That's not what you want for your life.
When you make a baby, you want you and
your partner to be ecstatic, not worried
sick. It is o.K. To just have guys as
friends. Why should you provide sex?
Really, once you get serious, engaged or
married, that can be a wonderful part of
the picture, but you are young, and why
not focus on other things like hanging out
with friends, guys and girls, going to
school, working, exercising, hobbies, etc.
At least I would say, wait until you are
18, the age of consent. Just value
yourself enough to know that if you are
not wanting a baby at this time, with this
guy, either don't have sex with him or
find a birth control that will not produce
unwanted side effects , and then keep
insisting on the condom, mandatory! Good
luck to you. Not trying to sound
preachy, just wish I had spent my youth
differently.
