Question About Situation With Birth Control Posted: 07-20-05 12:58pm
Hi everybody. I have been on birth
control since I was 17 and now i'm 22. I
have been on seasonale for a little over a
year and a half now. I know there are
alot of problems with spotting on this
pill, but I haven't spotted since my 6th
month on it. Recently I had to leave my
brand new package of birth contol pills in
a car during a texas summer day for
several hours. I had not yet taken one of
the pills (it was sunday (july 10th) and
i'm a sunday start) and I was worried
about its effectiveness. I called a
pharmacist and she said not to worry, that
since it wasn't for an extremely long time
it was fine so I took all my pill on time
that night and have since. Well, my
boyfriend and I had sex that monday and
tuesday night, using condoms but on
tuesday he went in a little before he put
the condom on. The following friday, sat,
and sunday I had a small amount of
spotting. It was dark muddy brown, like
my previosly spotting on the pill was. I
only could notice it friday and sunday
when I wiped, but saturday a small amount
got on my underwear. I was wondering if I
could be pregnant b/c of birth contol
failure? Would the spotting have been
implantation bleeding? When is the
soonest I can take a hpt? I'm so
incredibly worried about it and I won't
have my period for about another 3 months,
and I can't go on that long without
knowing! Please help!

Can I take one right now? I guess that
was my real question. I just wasn't sure
if I needed to wait longer since it has
only been a week since we had sex.

I would take it right now if you are
pregnant it is more than likely going to
show up positive. Just read the back of
the package for when to do it and how,
that will give you the best answer on
when. I only suggest not to go with a
cheap test, it will be worth the money to
get the correct answer.

Ok, well I just went a bought the first
response test, the one that test the
soonest (i think like 5 days before missed
period). It came out negative  !
The one I bought actually came with three
tests so I test again next week just to be
sure. But you think the results are
pretty accurate? I love my boyfriend and
we have been together for a long time and
plan on being together forever, but having
a child now would be near impossible. We
both just graduated from college, but i'm
going to 2.5 more years of school and he
has a crap job with no health benefits.
My parents had my oldest sister in
college, and I never wanted that to be my
experience. My stupidity for not using
condoms properly though, i'm not dumb and
I know you can get pregnant that way.
Hopefully this was just a scare and we
will be much better from here on out!
Thanks wildlckygirl!

I would almost quarantee that those are
pretty accurate it should have a % of
accuracy somewhere on the box. I
wouldn't worry about it anymore if it was
me if it says negative it is probably
negative. Just for the hell of it take
another test in like 4 days screw a week,
but I am sure you are fine!!
