Im 17 almost 18 and when I was in middle
school and early high school I used retin
a. When I was in middle school my acne
was horrible so I saw my doctor and got
retin a. I was too young to be usin this
cause I never put on sun screen. So from
8th grade to 10th grade I had tomato color
skin that was always peeling. 11th grade
last year I realized that retin a and my
lack of care was messing up my skin so I
stopped, no more medications, let my skin
get better on its own. The redness is for
the most part gone but its left me fair
skinned in the face. It wont tan just get
red. I also always have dry skin. It
never goes away. Why is my face fair
skinned did I damage it permanetly or is
there something I can do to fix it.

Ya retin a is pretty harsh stuff. I have
never used it because I have heard from
alot of ppl that is has damaged their
skin. Most of the time ppl use it only to
find it worsten their acne. Retin a
should only be used by someone with strong
skin. And what I mean by this is someone
who could build up a tolerance to this.
Alot of ppl's skin will react bad to retin
a because its a chemical and its peeling
layers of skin off causing your skin to
look red. There is nothing you can really
do right now as long as you are off of it.
Just wait and see if your skin gets
better. Good luck.
