Just Back From a Serious Stomach Ulcer
Posted: 07-21-05 07:43am

Hi, I got an ulcer because of aspirin and suffered rapid blood loss. My hematocrit fell to lower than 27.5. (i'm a 45 year old guy in generally good health.) I left the hospital after a few days and a few pints of blood, and my hematocrit stable at 30. I found walking up to my apartment (4 flights) very tiring. I'm on iron and eating extra healthy, and i'm feeling a tiny bit better with each passing day (i've been home 3 days.)

do you have any idea how long before i'm back to normal? How long before all my lightheadedness goes away? How long before I can go to the gym? Think it's okay for me to go for a walk in hot weather? Will I recover 100% or are their lingering effects of an ulcer? Do you have any tips for recovery?

Thanks.
