My mom(bless her heart) was scratched by a
cat when she was 6yrs old, and it gave her
toxoplasmosis, which triggered glaucoma,
which triggered uv-itis, which triggered
cateracts. She's already lost all but
pereperal vision in her left eye and its
discolored from the right one. She's had
cateract surgery once and its already
back. Her eye pressure is approaching 50,
which is about how much it takes for the
eyeball to burst. The uv-itis causes the
high pressure. Shes currently on 4
different kinds of drops and a pill. Is
there any new advancements in medicine
that maybe i'm not aware of. She's only
53 and its destroying her life...Everyday
we all fear she's gonna just wake up
blind..Please help me.

Please tell your mother, I feel for her.
I have gone threw 7 operations on my left
eye. I'm going on year and half since all
this started. The reason I am going threw
all this was because of left eye infection
due to a removal of a cataract. I just
had a corneal transplant and before that a
retina attachment. I had glocama after
the infection and they had to use laser to
put two different wholes to decrease the
pressure very painful to live with.
But that help and the glucoma was over
finally. I still can't see yet out of
that eye. I haven't returned to work i'm
a nurse. I wish her well and don't give
up hope! Rena
