Hello.. Little Stressed Right Now..need Some Advice.

Ok here is the deal. Im in law enforcement. Was involved in stopping a fight between two subjects. While securing one of them the other began yelling, which in turn caused a little spittle to hit my left eye..Near the corner..Not even sure it entered my eye, I noticed the guy had a busted lip. Anyways saying it did...I flushed my eye immediatly and went to a nurse whom also flushed my eye with some solution. Went to the hospital, and they drew some blood. Stated that I did not need to go on any medication since it was a low risk situation...And that I was ok. Does this sound right?

You were told correctly that the risk was very very very low. However, you should've been given some options at the hospital.

I had a similar circumstance and rushed to the hospital too. This was years ago. I started meds and literally died from the onset of side effects. I recall using the meds for 30 days. However, it's a personal choice. Many people don't opt for meds. They are only affective with 72 hours of infection. You had someone else make the decision for you, like the hospital staff.

Keep in mind that the risk was low. You should turn out fine. However, you should send some form of documentation complaining about the lack providing you with a choice of treatment, if you so desired.

The hospital did offer the medications. However the doc stated that while I could take them, I would not need them. And that he did not recommend them due to the sideeffects.

Yea, you did say that in your 1st thread. I must've been reading too fast.

It's a personal decision. You should turn out fine. Are you spending time thinking about it? Try not to. You'll work yourself into a big worry mess.

Please be careful with your profession!
