Can I Start a New Pack At a Different Time of Day?
Posted: 07-22-05 20:05pm

I've been on the pill for less than a month now (i'm having my period now and taking the placebo pills) and I was wondering if I can start my next pack at a different time of day than last month. During this past month I took the pills around 6pm, but now I dont think that's a good time for me so i'd like to take them at around 12 or so (or some other time, i'm not very sure yet). Is it okay to start a new pack at this different time? Will it affect the pill's effectiveness?

You should be fine starting at any time of day you want. Your body will be reset anyway, because of your period.

This is why it's okay if you forget to take a pill at your scheduled time (say, 8 am) and take it later in the day.

Hi there! Keep in mind though if you are just starting on birth control pill that you are using a condom for the 1st couple of months until the bcp has time to take effect.
Good luck!
