I'm real worried about my back. A few
years ago I noticed I had a small lump on
each side of my lower back. I asked my
orthapedic and he said it was normal. I
wasn't worried because a lot of people
have them. But for a while now i've been
getting really bad back pain. The other
day I was rubbing my back and noticed that
now there are several lumps and are much
bigger in size. I'm worried it could be
cancer because there is a lot of cancer in
both sides of my family. I had an x-ray
done and the hospital didn't say anything
but that was before I told them about the
lumps to the weren't looking for anything
like that and I read on the internet that
sometimes tumors in the muscle are hard to
see on x-ray. Not to mention I know from
experience they can't read x-rays for
crap.(they sent me home with a broken hip
once. The next day they called and said
they made a mistake and I wound up haveing
surgery. My hip was broke and a peice of
bone had acctaully shifted out of
place. How could anyone not notice that?)

I get lumps in my back all the time,
especially around my lumbar region. My
muscles get all knotted up and it hurts
like hades.

If you go to a doctor, he/she can send you
for an mri, and you'll have your questions
answered. It's totally painless, takes
about 45 minutes or so, and you'll know
what's going on. I did it, and now know
what's going on with my back.

I don't know why this forum isn't letting
the letters "mri" be capitalized in that
last post, but i'm sure you know what I
mean....
