I Need to Lose Weight Fast!
Posted: 07-27-05 00:34am

Okay, i'm 13 and weigh about 140 pounds! I'm maybe... 5'4" and the fat doesn't show that much, only a bit in my thighs and lower tummy. I wear a size 7-8 in teens pants and just about 3 months ago, a pair of 5's were really baggy on me.

I have self-esteem, but no self-motivation. I'm addicted to fatty foods (i do love veggies and fruits but read on to figure out why I can't always eat them) and my mom keeps getting them. I've sat her down and told her how important it is for me to lose some weight (maybe 35 pounds), how it affects my health and my self-esteem, but she just doesn't listen. She goes to the local ymca in the morning, but won't take me - even though I have a membership - because she thinks i'll slow her up.

School starts in a week, and all my friends will remember the thin me from when school let out, so they'll be worried. I know I can't lose 35 pounds in under a week, but I would like to lose the weight in about 2 months to 2 1/2 months.

My mom has agreed to buy me some weights to use, but that's not enough. I need to eat healthier, go to the y and get a personal trainer (they have them for free at my y, I don't know if they have them in other ones), that way, i'll feel like I owe it to the person helping me to lose the weight.

What I really want to know - by writing so much, I know  - is what diet I should use, and what type of exercises should I do. Thank you if you spent the time to read all this!

Just cut out the soda and sugary starch snacks. (like cookies chips ect) you are 13 so your about to have something that youll only get once in your life and you need to take full advantage of it, a growth spurt and fast metabolism. I dont think you really need to go on a full on diet you just need to cut some things here and there and get out there and exercise. Ride your bike, go for a walk or run, even little things help. .. Go to the mall and power walk, walk to a friends house instead of getting a ride from your mom, join a sports team at the y. My biggest suggestion is to do that and drink a ton of water, soda is just empty calories and so bad for you. Find good substitues for foods you like, ie instead of ice cream freeze a bannana on a stick and eat that(really good) when your craving chips eat nuts instead. If you want any more ideas pm me and I will get back to you...Ive totally been where you are though. But honestly your metabolism is so much faster when your younger and doing even these little things will really really help...

Good luck and remember not to take to heart what dumb high schoolers may say. It the scheme of things there opinions dont mean caca anyways
