If you're pregnant and don't realize it
and continue with your workouts (tae bo)
could it do any harm? I mean with all the
kicking, punching and squatting is it bad
for the baby? (just so theres no
confusion i'm not pregnant nor do I think
I am i'm just curious about the answer)
:)

Well I think i'm perfect to help with this
one. Last october I was 6 weeks pregnant
and didnt know until 4 days before I
miscarried. I was at the gym doing
strenuous workouts 5 days a week and 3
days out of those 5 I was doing turbo
kickboxing classes. The doctor says that
there is a good chance that my workouts
are the reason I miscarried.
Needless to say i've stopped those
workouts and am only at the gym 3 days per
week doing walking or swimming and a very
very light weight training program.

Most excersizing is actually encouraged
during pregnancy. I have only heard of
negative effects associated with very
heavy, very strenous workouts or manual
labor. You can ask your doctor
specifically what they would suggest but
most doctors will tell you, and encourage
you, to continue excersizing during the
pregnancy only doing lighter excersizes
the farther you are along.
My sister, the fool, was so afraid that
she was going to lose her body that she
worked out everyday of her pregnancy. In
fact, she went into labor while on her
daily walk around the block.

Hey thanks for the info, its just one of
those things that you hear different
responses too you know. And ladylegacy
i'm sorry for your pervious loss, I hope
all goes well this time around. I know
that walking and swimming are okay during
pregnancy (my friend did both durning her
pregnancy and the doc actually encouraged
her) but tae bo is different from walking
and swimming and not as strenuous as turbo
kick boxing (i don't think anyway) but its
still a work out, so I was just wondering
if it might be too much of a work out if
pregnant. Thanks for the replies. :)

Ive heard that strinuis excersizes are bad
durring pregnancy but light ones like
aerobics, a simple walk, or water aerobics
are good for the baby!
