Q: the Great Epidural Debate

I'm 38 weeks pregnant now, and ever since I first found out i've been trying to decide rather or not to go with an epidural. I've heard a million different arguements, and i'm not sure what to do. My family all says do it, it's wonderful, but my husbands says it causes problems and they were all fine without it. I'm being tugged in two different directions because I want to try to go without one (stupid reason- bragging rights later) but then again if the pain turns out to be too much I may not be able to get one in time unless I decide to go with it from the start.

I've never been pregnant, but I am ttc. I think it should totally be up to you! You are the only one who knows how you are feeling. If you feel you need it, then get it. If you feel you are doing ok without it, then great. Good luck to you!

Every person is different and has a different pain threshold. I would say, go for an epidural in your birth plan and then make the choice when you get to the point during labour. You can always say no!!

Good luck!
