That "4-period-a-year" Pill.... Posted: 07-29-05 16:06pm
I don't know if there's more than one bc
pill that lets you skip all but four
periods a year, but i've got a pamplet for
seasonale sitting beside me and i'm
curious. Is or has anyone taken this
pill before? I have read the
information, but I don't trust it. I'd
rather talk to someone who has been there
done that, you know?
My biggest q: can I use it while
breastfeeding (the info says nothing about
that)
second: are the periods really like they
would be on normal bc pills?
I'm just kind of cautious. I'll ask my
doctor next week, but i'm curious now.

I don't really know much about seasonale;
i've never used it myself. However, I do
know that it contains both estrogen and
progestin which is not recommended to take
while breast-feeding. Doctors will
normall perscribe a progestin-only bcp, or
"mini-pill" (such as ortho micronor),
during this time. Hope this helps!
