Nausea! Help Please, Can't Take It Anymore!
Posted: 08-01-05 03:09am

Hi girls

i really need some help/tips/remedies anything really to help me beat this awful nausea!, im only 7 weeks, but the last few days nausea has kicked in, first few days it was ok, just feeling a bit sick but nothing major....... Yesterday was absoluty awful!, I didn't eat a thing all day, we had a typical italian sunday lunch with the family, loads of courses of different type of food, and I just couldn't eat a thing, pasta.... A couple of forks........1 meatball........2 forks of thin steak.........A tiny bit of white fish.... It was awful, everytime I opened my mouth I felt like I was going to be sick, my stomach had just closed up, it was like I had the worst hang over in the world, had a bad headache too, tried to have a nap, and couldn't sleep.
Really need some help here, can't go on not eating, am sick of waking up with hangovers everyday! :(

getting blood tests done in a couple of days to see, but I think its just general nausea due to pg
help me please

Hey hun

when I found out I was pregnant I had severe nausea, I had to go to the hospital twice to get an i.V because I was so dehydrated, I puked non stop, everyday.

My obgyn said I have hyperemesis gravidarium it's a form of morning sickness but more severe than regular, it needs treatment and care! My doc prescribed me with "benadryl" it's an allergy medicine but has some type of drug in it that helps with the sickness, I have puked once since ive been on it and i've been on it for about a month.

That case of morning sickness isn't something you should "grin and bear through" it needs watching so you can be sure your drinking enough fluids.

These are the symptoms.

Symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarium
severe nausea
persistent excessive vomiting (more than 3 or 4 times a day)
dehydration.
A decrease in urination due to dehydration.
Maternal weight loss or failure to gain weight.
Rapid heartbeat.
Headaches and confusion.
Skin may become pale-looking and dry.

Hiya
thanx for the reply
i feel really sorry for u, thats sounds awful!, I don't think I have that, as I haven't vomited once !, but sometimes I wish I would, and get it over and done with then i'd feel better, plus I am drinking loads, thats no problem, its just getting food down me which is the prob at the moment, am hoping that today will be better then yesterday!

Crackers....Crackers.....Crackers.....

It is the only thing worked for me. Best time is before leaving the bed and I guess anytime during the day. I only got sick in the morning around 3 months for 2 weeks. But the whole pregnancies I was sick from certain foods. Mostly anything with tomatoes, although I loved tomatoes they would make me feel sick.

Spagehetti sause, tomatoe soup, I love both but every time I would eat them I would be so sick. I just learned what made me sick, so when it did I expected it. And crackers were readily available.

My mom was so sick with my older brother that the blood vessels in her eyes tore from her wretching so bad, shed get sick from just watching tv commercials with food on them and this was the whole pregnancy. But ever pregnancy with her was different, with my youngest brother she never had one pregnancy symptom the whole pregnancy, so just to give you hope if you plan on having another baby. They have the maternal lollypops that are suppose to help. Sips of gingerale and nibble on crackers. Also .B.R.A.T banannas, rice, applesauce, toast.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Hopefully youll get over this when your out of your first trimester.

I know what ya mean with the morning sickness .. In the begining of my pregnancy it was so bad.. Getting out of bed was tough..But I learned to take it slow in the morning.. Just go at a slow/gradual pace..Toast and crackers definatly help..Trust me .. It seems hopeless now.. Lol.. But it will get better.. Then you'll move on to heartburn lol ..
