Hi,
i have been in pain for the past 5 years.
I am 25 yrs old and have left arm pain
since I was 20. My wrist and hand goes
numb and I get jabbing pains in my
shoulder and upper arm. I managed to
ignore this until a yr ago when after an
especially bad episode I developed
palpitaions, not a racing heartbeat but
more of a sudden 5 beat gallop and then
back to normal. After this I recieved an
ecg from my doctor. He also ordered a
cholesterol test which was ok at 5.2.
(about 200 in us) but my hdl was quite
low. I have since lowered it further to
about 3.2 (140 us) and my hdl is now
1.7.
My symptoms have worsened considerably
though. I have no family history and no
risk factors other than I used to be
overweight and smoke alot both of which I
have since dealt with. After making all
these changes I feel terrible. Now what
was once just arm pain is chest pressure,
dizziness, breathlessness and an
electrical feeling in my chest and on some
days intense exaustion. I have terrible
circulation in my whole body and feel
extremely ill, I go blue in the cold as
the small veins in hands and feet go into
spasm.. Problem is a have now had alot
of further tests such as holter monitor,
event recorder, stress test (without
imaging), echo and many evaluations. My
pain which used to be triggered by smoking
is now triggered by walking from one room
to another and starts when I firt get out
of bed and is on and off all day until
evening when it seems to improve.
When my heart has enough blood I can feel
warmth pumping through it but it can all
of a sudden be cut off. I am also able
to have the odd completely normal day on
which I can climb hills and exersise very
hard with no symptom. It makes no sense
and I am now 20 wks pregnant and in hell
as I feel so ill all the time. It makes
no sense that I have cad but what else
could this be?
Can anyone help me?

Thyroid -
that little gland can cause just about all
of the symptoms you mentioned.
My wife could not believe how wonderfull
she felt when her indian doctor told her
what to do to correct it. Have a blood
test for thyroid hormone secretion done.

It does sound like your thyroid is out of
kilter. Does that run in your family? My
mother had thyroid problems and I remember
her having to do iodine. I had most of
my thyroid taken out 6 years ago. I had
all those symptoms and more. It took a
few years before my meds were regulated
enough for the rest of my thyroid. My
daughter has a low thyroid. Check it
out.
