Q: Cramping???

Any help would be appreciated. I do have a gyn appt. On thursday this week. I'll make sure they figure it out asap! This is not normal for me & it is beginning to worry me a little (just a little, though). :? I'm just curious to know, though, if anyone else has gone through this without the bleeding. I do not believe I am pregnant since i've taken a couple of preg. Tests & they were neg. I just wanted to know if someone else has gone through this with simliar symptoms. Thanks! :d

to start off with, i'm on birth control. I just switched yesterday from mircette to ovcon 35. I was on mircette for 3 months (just ended last week). Did not have any issues with first pack. 2nd pack was all good, too, until the period week. Cycle was all goofed up & only had light to moderate bleeding. Period was around 7 days long (3 days light/moderate bleeding & 3 days spotty). Normal is 5 days (2 days heavy, 2 days light/moderate, 1 day spotty/nothing).

Anyone ever been on bc & it caused af (aunt flo) like cramping?? It feels as though i'm going to start my period, but this cramping has been going on since 7/10 (a little over 3 weeks). I just ended my period on saturday (started wednesday & cramping became actual af cramps that lasted most of the period which is also unusual. Of course, this period was like 2 days long & very light.). I've never had mid-cycle cramping ever, so i'm not sure why I would now. No bleeding since cramping started. No breakthrough bleeding of any kind. I've taken several preg tests, but all neg. So, i'm pretty darn sure i'm not pregnant, but I have no idea what else it could be.

The cramping is pretty mild most of the time. Every once in awhile, i'll feel "throbbing" in the area & it becomes a little more painful, but nothing I need to take a pill for or anything. Some days I barely even feel it there,
but it has been constant since the 10th.

Here are other symptoms:

-dizziness (sometimes)
-tired a lot (but not unusual)
-nipples are sore (not horribly, though), but they've been sore since a couple of days before period. However, the areola around the nipple will wrinkle when nipple gets hard. Never ever happened before. Also, the montgomery tubercles are showing more than i've ever seen them show before.
-hot flashes (pretty crazy because I do not have those, either)
-nausea (sometimes, but hardly ever & it doesn't last long when I do)
-sense of smell is different
-lower back pain (almost consistent with the cramping)
-extreme thirst at times (especially @ night)

i went to a doc's office a few weeks ago & saw an np (nurse practioner) who said it was probably due to too low a dose of the birth control. However, she never examined me nor gave me any kind of urine test, so I do not know if I trust her too much @ this point. She said pregnancy was out of the question because i'm on birth control. Any ideas??

I can't imagine that all of the symptoms above could be caused because of too low a dose of bc. Also, most people i've read about that have too low a dosage also have break thru bleeding which I have not had.
I have no pain during sex. Last week since I ended so early, my dh & I decided to have sex. Afterwards, I had pretty bad cramping, but we had sex other times during the weekend without any problems. So, kind of weird.

Any thoughts because when I see the gyno, i'd like to have an idea of what it could be. Tia!! :d

Well the nurse could be right but you could also be pregnant you can't test for that though untill your about 5 weeks pg. Birthcontrol does not always work did you ever forget to take one?

Out of the question??? The nurse kinda strange--everyone knows birth control is not 100%

it is always possible to get pregnant--some times less likely than others but always possible.

And...If you just changed them, or having problems as you say--cycle messed up--- more likely to be pregnant

Never Missed a Bc Pill
I've never missed a bc pill in the last pack. I know i've missed pills before in the packs before, but I always took them either later on in the evening or at the latest the next morning when I got to work. So, I wouldn't think that would be a problem, but I guess it could be. However, if I was further than 5 weeks when I had my last period (light) then the 2 preg. Tests I took would have shown a positive. They didn't, though.

Thanks for the input! We'll hopefully find out tomorrow!!

Thanks,
heather :d
