Hi, I am new here and I am looking for
some advice. It started 4 weeks ago with
a flu like episode that lasted 2 days
(slight fever etc) I felt better but a
couple of days later the runny nose
started and the coughing but all in all I
felt ok, not short of breath or anything.
After a couple of weeks the doc gave me an
11 day antibiotic course (claritromy) but
it didn't work any miracles. Now 4 weeks
on I wake up every morning, cough my lungs
out, runny nose ( still absolutely no
shortness of breath) and a couple of hours
later it's more or less over and I am fine
all day but I am sure tomorrow will be the
same and it is driving me crazy. A 4 week
cold, in the summer!!! And the coughing
is driving me crazy. Anyone else have
this?Any advice would be sooo welcome, is
this even a cold?

Guh, i've got that crap right now. It
started back in july with a head cold, and
since then it's been going back and forth
between my head and my chest, with a few
stop-offs in my throat. As I write this,
it's clogging the mess up outta my chest.
Anti-biotics only work on bacteria, not on
viruses- as far as I know. Who am I to
say, i'm no doctor. Just glad to hear
someone else has this crap. Afterall i'm
a terrible hypochondriac . . . Sigh.
