Hi I am ok. Dont know when my anxiety
started, probably the day I was born and
i'm not joking! My life has been one huge
mess, I do think that my childhood had a
great impact on how I developed as an
adult.
I first discovered I was a stress head
when I found out I had been officially
divorced for two days... I had a massive
stomache ulcer and 24 mouth ulcers (6 on
my tongue). I suffered from bullimia for
over 15 years. People I was with and
situations that I could not handle in life
, being of a shy nature, contributed to a
spiralling decline in my well being. I
suffered from multi allergies meaning lots
of migraines, I am hypoglycemic, have
bladder weakness(waiting for tvt op), got
obssessed about things being in order, am
of so low opinion of myself that I do not
trust anyone, I had bad palpitations,
panic attacks and agoraphobia(in my case
it is being around lots of people it just
freaks me out emotionally) especially
school kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a great
husband now but I think if I told him all
my fears and worries he would put it down
to me being jealous and neurotic which
makes me mad as hell. I need to speak to
someone that has gone thru the same as me
and so will understand where i'm coming
from..Dexi

Hi pip, not really close to family and
all my sisters have been thru the mill as
well my big sis was raped by my dad the
day after her 17th b/day(she is now 43)
and he was abusive physically to us all
then my stepdad, and 1st hubby abused me,
so everytime we girls get together its to
talk about these people and how they
messed up our lives which hacks all the
men in our lives off!!! I am not on any
meds I prefer to heal my body with
herbs/herbal remedies. And my mind I just
have to let all the stresses go (i had a
brain heamorrhage in 2005) so now I am
terrified of ''blowing my top!!!'' also
have overactive thyroid so having lots of
hot flushes...I have to use my local
library for this which closes 4.Ish on
wed's . I am 40 yo.Btw
i think these forums are a great idea ..
But I do feel a little funny sharing all
my woes with so many strangers!!! Speak
soon?

Hi there dexi, dont worry about telling all
about your problems,we are all here for
the same reason,we want to help one
another as best we can, even talking about
a problem can help, some people who do not
have our problem find it hard to
understand or think maybe were
strange, thats why its nice to chat to
people who have our problem. We understand
each other,ibrought the linden method,that
really has helped me,have you heard of it
?

Dear pip
never heard of the linden method, what
exactly is it? Is it for help overcoming
anxiety?
No not on any meds prefer to treat myself
and my family with herbal remedies ie 5htp
for depression. Feverfew for my migraines
etc.
Funny thing tho' I have just had my mum to
stay for four days and did a lot of
nostalgic things (visited a lot of graves
etc!!!!!) and somehow finding out all
about my mothers family has helped me to
find myself a little bit more and feel
more confident in who I am... Im
beginning to feel like my own person
instead of just as someones wife and
mother...Onwards and upwards!! Dexi. :p

Hi there!
I think that if you have both of your
ovaries removed that this will induce the
menopause. One of these symptoms is of
course hot flashes but not sure how soon
if at all you will get these... I get hot
flashes but not sure whether it is because
of the perimenopause which I think im on,
or if its got summat to do with my
enlarged thyroid, but either way its
uncomfy as heck!! It comes on relly
suddenly and can last from a couple of
mins to a couple of hours!....Let us know
if and when yours kicks in and whatever
else you may get...Dexi

Dexi,
so you think your hot flashes have to do
with your thyroid. Maybe I need that
checked out. I am definately not old
enough be be going through menophase but I
have hot flashes all the time. It is
horrible. They make my face turn red and
get physically hot. I feel a flush of
hotness when it starts. It sucks.

Hi there just to elucidate a little . My
doctor described it as the boiler switch
was turned off but the fire kept right on
burning.. It feels just like a hot flash
which is why im so confused about it. He
did want me to go on beta blockers but I
said no as they would merely mask the
problem not sort it.
It is definitely worth getting it checked
out at your own doctors, ps. If you are
young then it is less probable but still
possible to be going through an early
menopause...But remember the perimenopause
can last up to 10 years or more before you
actually go through menopause..
Good luck! Dx :)

I am only 22 years old. Do you think
that I could be going through
perimenopause? I don't have high blood
pressure, some people i've talked to said
that this could cause my red and burning
face. But I don't think so. My mom
thinks that it might have something to do
with the birth control I am on, ortho
cyclyn. I switched to this one because
my last one made me have mood swings, like
pmdd. (horrible bit**iness). Now I
don't have those symptoms with this one
but I have hot flashes and I can't
remember when they started. What else
could be causing them?

Hi again..
By the sounds of things I would guess that
it is not in fact perimenopause with you,
it could well be something to do with any
medication youre on, I would ask yourself
exactly what is it that is causing you so
much discomfort? Is it the physical
discomfort of your face going red? Or is
it more the fact that you get embarressed
over it? If you have no other major
symptoms then try to find a way of
relaxing your blood pressure when you get
this way, think of a massive bucket of ice
cold water being pored over you taking all
the redness away as many times as is
neccessary!! I know that it sounds a
little wierd but believe me it really does
work!!! Dex
