Low Sex Drive
Posted: 08-02-05 17:47pm

Hello all..It's been a while for me on this forum.
I have been having a lot of trouble with my sex drive. It's very, very low.
I use to have a high sex drive and then two relationships with really really bad sex put me on a damper. I'm in a new (although not so new relationship because we dated 3 years ago) and we had great sex. But although my sex drive has gone up, is still really damp. And some times I cringe away from his touches or if I notice he might try and touch me seductively. I hate this. One ex boyfriend kinda made me feel gross about sex and I cannot shake it off.
Any one on suggestons or anyone facing or faced myproblem? I would be greatful for some input.

Thanks!

Wow.....Sounds like me in some ways. I wish I had an answer for you but maybe it is your testosterone level or that your hormones are off kilter. Get thoe levels tested and talk to the gyn. It helped me some. It may get better. I keep hoping mine increases and back to normal. If you push him away as I did my husband then he won't approach you later on down the road. Tell him that sex is great but right now can we just hold each other........Interest may start after some snuggle time. Piglady

Damn girl I think you just explained what a lot of woman can't. I really do believe that to a certain extent we can lose our interest in men/sex b/c of negative experiences. But I can't shake the fact that at one point I used to be such a horny girl! I really think rx drugs including birth control and antidepressants which a majority of us woman are on can be teh real reason... It is very easy for anything synthetic we put into our bodies to throw off the natural chemical/hormonal imbalance.
Get your hormones checked thats what im doing!!

To the poster above me ^^^ what did u take for your hormonal imbalance?? Im considering doing the testosterone patch...

i just gave this advice to another member, but thought I would post it here for you girls too. I got my hormones tested for the same reason and they came back normal. Normal to the docs is anything that falls into a very large spectrum and even though one level might be normal for some its not for all. I started using this natural remedy called maca 500mg three times a day. It not only balances hormone levels, but also gives you more energy and helps with infertility problems. Its been used for thousands of years and is very safe. Do a search and check it out. It works and it doesn't cost very much. --raina--

Hi all, thought I would try and help out here.

Yes biondo_bella is right about birth control and antidepressants.

The birth control chemicals disable the pituitary-ovarian functions for no more androstenedione and testosterone production (the adrenal glands can contribute only about 10% !) and deactivates the liver function that supports the cholesterol-hormone conversion and the neurotransmitter synthesis from proteins and that stimulates the production of shgb (sex-hormone-binding globulin) to bind testosterone.

As a result, the sex nerve is desensitized, the arterial dilation mechanism is blocked, more cholesterol is deposited in the arteries to block the blood circulation, and the production of the relaxation/elasticity hormone prostaglandin e-1 (pge-1) in the vaginal tissue and orifice drops or even stops.

Without pge-1 in the vaginal and vulva tissues, the local nerves and tissues can not withhold compression, expansion, stretching or friction. This causes intercourse or penetration pains (vaginismus) and vulva abrasion ( vulvodynia).

Using spermicide jelly (k-y jelly) in the conceptive period which is from the 11th to the 17th day after the beginning of the last period. For safety, select the period from 10th to 18th day.

Using spermicide jelly (k-y jelly) + condom around the ovulation day, including 1-day before and after ovulating, (the ovaulation day is at the half of the menstrual cycle after the beginning of the last period).

Requirements: the couple must be deep in love, giving up sexual freedom for sexual orgasm.

This natural contraceptive method will give a loving couple for more sexual orgasm!

Try taking daily:

fish oil 3000mg
borage oil 3000mg
l-arginine 1500mg

this will boost the prostaglandin e1 synethisis.
