Help Stabbing Pain In Back Between Shoulder Blades Posted: 08-04-05 09:27am
I had my gall bladder removed 9 months
ago. It was an emergency surgery due to
non stop vomitting and pain in upper right
side of abdomen. Ultrasound showed
stones and one huge one blocking the duct.
Prior to this, I was on meds for gerd.
Off and on I would get bouts of this
stabbing pain in the upper part of my back
between my shoulders accompanied with
belching. Sometimes it was relived by
bending over and burping out a good one.
But, the pain in the back could last for
up to 30 minutes or more at times. I had
this before my suregery thinking it was
gerd. After my surgery, they told me
that was my gall bladder acting up.
Well, now my gall bladder is removed, and
i'm experiencing the same thing again.
Could you have gall bladder like symptoms
without your gall baldder, or is this
gerd?
Yes I have the same problem and been
through alot of testing, took my
gallbladder out and it made things worse.
I have attacks every day and they seem to
think its sod, look this up on the
computer, its where your bile duct could
be closed up at the end or you could have
a stone stuck in your bile duct. They can
do a test called a ercp, sometimes it
helps but my gastrologist dont seem to
think it will me, so guess I will just
keep trying different meds and hope to
find one that helps one day.
