I was going up the stairs in my apt carrying groceries when I missed a step. I landed on my knees and nothing hit my stomach but i'm just worried that something could happen. I'm only 5 weeks along, think everything will be all right?

The fetus is surprisingly protected, so chances are your fine, but of course be on the look out for spotting and sharp pains

I fell down 5 steps on my stomach when I was 8 1/2 months preg. I lost my balance. Even though I felt fine I had to get reassurance from my doctor.

I was 5 months when I fell down the stairs. I missed four steps and fell but first. I panicked. Luckily, we rented one of those fetal dopplers so I checked my baby's heartbeat right away (everything seems normal). It helps a lot when you feel paranoid at times regarding your baby's development. So well, I had no problems except for minor butt pains and back but I was fine...No spotting whatsoever. Just be careful next time.

I whiped out all the time..Probably every other day in the end. It was embrassing. The worse time was in canadian tire in fromt of about 50 people at christmas. I don't know what I tripped on. My own 2 feet I guess.

Thanks for all the reassurance. I feel fine and haven't had any spotting or anything and since this happened yesterday I guess everything is ok. Just have to be extra careful from now on, which considering im a klutz could be a real challenge

Falling While Six Months Pregnant
I feel two nights ago while on a walk with my husband. There was an uneven step in the sidewalk and it was late at night, we both stumbled, and I almost caught myself, but I must've overcorrected because I took a bad spill into the paved road. It happened so fast. I hit my head first, then my left side took the brunt of the fall. I skinned my hand, elbow and shoulder pretty bad and my hip hurt really bad. I was crying because I was not only scared for the baby, but it hurt. My husband flagged a car driving by and they took us home. I could hardly walk that night and all yesterday because not only did my left side hurt but my right side started cramping up for overcompensating. I went to my ob yesterday and everything is fine- thank god! It's amazing how protected the baby is inside the womb. This is our first child and we were so worried. My husband was very concerned when I fell because he was afraid I had hit my stomach. Just be sure to get checked out after a fall, no matter how minor.

Falling
Hi Everyone,

It has been almost two years since I posted the incident about the fall. My baby girl is now 20 months old. She is sooo precious, cute, and sweet!

I'm glad these experiences have helped others! Like I've said, the uterus is an amazing and complex protecting barrier for Baby so most likely if Mom falls Baby is ok, just go get checked out!!! It's better to be safe than sorry! Smile Good luck to all the mommies out there. We are so blessed to be able to have little ones that bring such joy into our lives!! Smile

I fell two nights ago, down the last flight of stairs in my staircase. I'm 5'11" and I came level with the floor unto my back and butt. I was so worried I didn't cry at once but I eventually did, it's my first pregnancy and I'm very scared. I'm 5 months pregnant and going to see my doctor today, but thanks for the boost of good stories I read from you guys I feel less depressed and look forward to positive results today.
