Hpv Infection Goes Away??

Ok I have been reading a lot about hpv and
I am so confused. It was said that hpv
can be harmless and some people show no
symptoms and the infection just goes away
on its' own. Now does this mean that it
cannot be transmitted to a partner in the
future, and how do u kno if it has gone
away.

Please guys, I am so confused right now.
This hpv has me in tears because I don't
know how I got it. It would be great if
the infection went away and I couldnt give
it to my future husband. One stupid
mistake can ruin ur life!!!

No it does not go away it is one of those
std's that you will have for the rest of
your life. Dont rip yourself apart
because a majority of the people have this
and dont even know it.

You already know that you have it, but
make sure you get checked often because
hpv is the cause of almost all cervical
cancer and can kill you!

Unfortunately it doesn't go away and I
have it. I had no signs and no symptoms
except for bad pap tests. The only way
to monitor the hpv virus it to have
regular pap tests done or if genital warts
start appearing make an appointment with
your doctor.
I was so upset when I found out I had hpv
but after doing reasearch and talking to
others, I realized I am not alone. I
know alot of women who have it and they
continue to live a normal life. It has
been 7 years since I found out I had it
and my pap tests have all been coming back
normal.

Hpv Doesn't Go Away

I'm almost 60 and have had abnormal pap
tests since 2003 due to HPV. Each one has
come back mild dysplasia. I'm getting
concerned about the virus that doesn't go
away and the odds about developing
cervical cancer. I've had two laser
surgeries but it has not gone away. Has
anyone else had it for this long? I get a
pap test every 4 months.

There is at least one product at
Herpes.com that is sold for HPV that
supposedly has good results. The website
also has chat (maybe a forum) so perhaps
you could find if it has worked for
others.
Don't know about your other questions,
just thought you might like to know of a
product for relief.

You seem to have one of the bad strains.
But don't worry about the cervical cancer
as long as you keep it in check. The very
worst case scenario for you could be
having to have the cervix removed and that
is no problem if you are 60 because you
must be done with children..

Only removing the cervix and keeping the
uterus in tact is generally done to keep
the woman fertile. For a woman who has
already gone through menopause and is done
bearing children, they would do a
hysterectomy.
Darkeyes1947: you've had mild dysplasia
for 4 years. Mild dysplasia is not cancer.
Since you are being monitored every 4
months, your risk of cervical cancer is
quite low. Cervical cancer is also very,
very treatable.
Keep up on your paps!!

I wonder if in her case the doctor will
suggest a hysterectomy. For one mild
displasya is not like serious but then if
the persistent strain doesn't go away wiht
a histerectomy she would not need to go
every 4 months for life to a gyn, no more
colpos, no more painful biopsies etc
etc..just curious.

Well, a hysterectomy is major surgery and
can cause it's own problems. It takes many
weeks to recover from this surgery. It is
very expensive and it doesn't 'cure' you
of hpv.

I'm glad my hpv went away.. I had abnormal
pap's for a year and half. But since last
september they are now normal. They
didn't had to do anything with me. It just
went away on it's own alone.

Technically, you still have HPV, but the
dysplasia is what can heal on it's own =)
Many women will have HPV, they will have
abnormal PAP tests, and the doctors may
recommend 'watching and waiting' to see if
the dysplasia heals on its own.
Even if the dysplasia does heal, you still
have HPV.

yes i undertand that. What happens is that
hpv dna integrates with the dna of the
cells where the cells begin to grow
normally with it. So yes technically you
still have the hpv but you can say it's
gone on it's own.
