Anyone Get This Problem While Being Treated With Lexapro? Posted: 08-06-05 18:00pm
I have been on lexapro for some months
now, it works sometimes, sometimes helps
me not feel sad, but it makes me feel like
a zombie, like I feel like I don't care
about anything. But I have been
experiencing these werid laughing spells,
its like im drugged. I laugh and act
werid... Like I feel like sticking my
head out of the window of the car while
going fast, u know weird stuff.
And is it bad to take a whole 20 pill of
lexapro when your doctor only wanted you
to take half of the 20 lexapro? I just
get down and take more... Is that bad?
Is that the reasons for these weird spells
ive been having?
My family asked me what I was on,,, if I
was taking drugs, I said heck no, just
lexapro...... My mom says it might be
making me high..Lol

can anyone help me? Please?

Hi, I take lexapro too. I took it a year
ago, then started again about 3 weeks ago.
I think part of the problem you are
having is your dosage. I haven't had any
side effects other than lack of appetite.
I am on 10 mg. I did read something
recently about how lexapro can cause
feelings of mania, so I would definately
talk to the dr about your symptoms. You
may have more going on than you realize!

Hi i've been on lexapro for almost 6
months. Have had to raise the dosage
twice. Not really sure it's working or
not. I still have panic attacks through
out the day even in the middle of the
night. The last few nights has been
really bad. I'll get the shakes so bad
that my body will ache afterwards. And I
just can't control my thoughts at all when
this is happening. Don't know if i'm
getting used to the new dosage or not but
it seems things are just getting worse.
Not sure how much more I can take. I
talk to the dr later this week I hope he
can do something different before I do
something to myself again.

I'm sorry to hear you are having so many
problems. I hope everything works out
for you. Please don't do anything to
hurt yourself. I know this may sound
stupid but I know from my own
experience-if you were gone-someone would
miss you! Maybe lexapro is not right for
you. Talk to your doctor about maybe
trying a new med. Be honest-tell the
doctor how you really feel and what you
are going through. That will help the
doctor diagnose you and get your meds
right! I hope you feel better soon!

alot to me that you guys took the time to
write me back and help me. U guys are so
kind.
I will talk to my doctor about my spells,
thank you for suggesting it... Im worryed
about this lexapro.. Cause I still get
down, and obessive with dieting to the
point I want to not eat, and I laugh so
crazy even at work, and feel like doing
crazy stuff, then when I get down I get so
depressed and get obessed again with
dieting.
