i went through a very stressful period in
my life, it was like a string of events
that triggered very hell-ish symptoms.
dizzy spells, wanting to pass out, heart
racing, feeling sick to my stomach. they
creeped up on me out of nowhere! i ended
up in the ER, where they immediately
rushed me to the back and hooked me up to
monitors, as i had what they called
"severe hypertension", at 24 years old! my
blood pressure was at 144 the next day
when i followed up with my physician.
he basically diagnosed me with anxiety. he
prescribed some medication for it, which
worked out for me but i decided to stop
taking them and find the willpower within
myself to win the battle. i have a
seriously painful past, years and years of
strife accumulated, and there i was making
the decision to deal without medication!
well, a little bit of determination goes a
long way...
i made some changes in my lifestyle, that
helped reduce the amount of STRESS in my
life, and i also sought healthy coping
mechanisms for stress. talking to someone,
setting my mind on other things. remaining
positive in the midst of all the negative.
eating right, exercising. incorporating
more fun into my life. pampering myself.
a month later, my bp dropped down to 122
(exactly 20pts). i allowed myself to
experience all the horrific symptoms of my
body crying out to me, while making
continuous effort toward some changes
within and outside of myself.
the dizzy spells became less and less
frequent. it was tough the first two weeks
into it. i found myself freaking out
whenever it happened. the trick is to not
fight it. when it happens, relax. do not
become anxious. nothing is going to happen
to you. having an anxious reaction every
time, will only increase your anxiety, and
also your dizziness. it will turn into an
obsessive pattern. you may not even catch
onto it, the obsession will take on a life
of it's own and the cycle will repeat.
some good things to tell yourself during a
dizzy spell: "i'm dizzy, i need to stop
for a second (wait for it to pass)"...
"this will end soon (take a deep
breath)"... if you're in your car at a
stop light, lean your head back, close
your eyes for a brief second, take a deep
breath and clear your mind (you can listen
to jazz music and really focus on the
sounds, envision going home and taking a
hot shower, or something good that
happened in your day and your thoughts
will move away from your worries and
you'll feel more "comfortable being
anxious")... do not fight it, just "be in
the moment".
don't put on a tough face and ignore it
while you are suffering inside. when you
fight it, you're wasting precious and very
sensitive energy. when we fight ANYTHING
(or ANYONE, including ourselves) what will
happen? an adrenaline rush. a surge in
blood pressure. rapid breathing. the word
"fight" carries some very heavy vibrations
with it, that will resonate and be felt
throughout your entire being.
when you've reached a point where you hope
someone will tell you something is wrong
and you have sought all the medical
expertise you could find and still no
luck... maybe it's time to take a
different approach, have a different
outlook on your situation.
UNLESS your symptoms increase in severity
or there is a new symptom... the most you
can do at this point (since you've been
cleared by all the doctors), is find a way
to ACCEPT your symptoms and allow them to
be a part of your life without resistance,
until a doctor can diagnose you. be
grateful that so far, it is nothing severe
from what anyone can tell.
i am not trying to minimize anybody's pain
here, i have deep empathy for everyone. i
can guarantee you'll be in a much better
state of mind and health, if you just go
with the flow. live in the moment. your
mind and what you focus on, can have
dramatic effects on your quality of life.
if the majority of your thoughts are
negative and you feel hopeless, your
physical symptoms can feel 100x worse than
what they are and be felt in unnecessary
extremes. create a new pathway in your
mind for healing to take place.
total health is mind, body and spirit. if
one is not well, you have to create
balance between the three.
Good Love, Good Luck...

Hi,
I'm a 28 year old male, very active &
fit. Was Playing football 3 times a week,
going to the gym etc... I've suffering
with dizzy symptoms for the last 6 months
now. Light-headedness, feeling faint,
drowsy most of the day. I wake up in the
morning ok but not refreshed just really
tired but no dizziness, & after I get
out of bed & get on with my day then
it kicks in. Light headedness, faint,
unbalanced, drowsy, sweaty palms, flu like
symptoms, mental symptoms include memory
problems, confusion, brain fog, blurry
vision, out of focus vision. Constant
tiredness / fatigue can sleep for the
world. In the weekends I average around 14
hours sleep a night. Every thing seems
like hard work, I need to make an effort
for the slightest things, & the
slightest stress, cold or virus will make
it 10 times worse. Alcohol & caffeine
makes it worse. If I have a half a larger
or a glass of wine I feel it straight
away. Crowded rooms, pubs, supermarkets,
shops etc makes it worse, Had all the
blood tests done, MRI, ENT, neurologist,
but all ok. (Don’t know if that’s a
good thing or a bad thing). Been going to
my doctor nearly once a week & they
all come up with the same words (IT'S A
MYSTERY). But I keep on fighting &
studying the net for more info & keep
coming up with new suggestions. I'm
getting tested next week for yeast
infection cause that could be a major
factor. Apparently yeast growth in the
intestines could cause a lot of these
symptoms. A chiropractor the week after
& then to a physiatrist . Doctor
reckons anxiety might be playing a big
role. So I’ll keep on fighting. I'm
trying not to give up nor accept that
I’ll be like this for the rest of my
life.
It makes me feel better to know that I’m
not the only one suffering with this but
we’ll get through it if we stick
together & support one another.
I’ll keep you updated on how I get on
with the tests.

Dizzy try exercise Posted: 10-13-08 02:23am
Hi
I have the dizzy feeling regularly, heavy
headedness, concentration challenged, and
sometimes my eyes feel like dangling in
the air controlling themselves. its awful.
I go out for a jog to releive the feeling
and it does help. I feel more energized
and alert. I thought i was the only one
feeling like this. Now It seems doctors
are not aware of it. So i suggest you get
happy with running or exercising
aerobically and get those tiny blood
vessels in your brain feel the surge. who
knows they could be restrained? if not
enough blood reachers there there
certainly could become a problem. Also
drink plenty of water as a habit, neuro
cells also need water, and wth not enough
they could get damaged ( to my young
brthers and sisters who are not aware and
are studying hard). If you think a lot
drink more water and go for aerobic
exercise at leats 20 minutes a week. I
hope it helps.
