 hey guys! I need some advice!
For the past three years I have experienced general anxiety. It feels like my heart is always racing, & my nerves are shot...I was just beginnig college when all of this came about, thus assuming it was subconsciously related. I tried to cope without meds, but soon decided to try something after things got worse. I found zoloft, which worked for me great.
I gradually "weemed" off of it a couple months before I found out I was pregnant (just a coincidence). I am currently five months, & up to this point had no anxiety problems! Very exciting! However....Just this past week I have noticed it overwhelming me once again. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this during pregnancy & what they did. I am worried that my anxiety itself could harm my fetus. I would like more information on zoloft (or of similiar nature) during pregnancy, but however, I more importantly would like any advice or knowledge anyone has on the anxiety alone harming my fetus. Im assuming that when my heart races, it also races that of my baby.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly I would like to say congratulations on your pregnancy and welldone for getting this far without medication!

I find out today if I am pregnant or not and already, thoughts are going through my mind as to whether I will be able to cope!

I understand that the thoughts on taking medication through pregnancy is "don't unless you really have to", but I also understand that we are people to, and get sick too. I would recommend doing a search on google such as "zoloft during pregnancy" and see what you come up with. Here's one site that I found doing this searchhttp://www.Fda.Gov/fdac/features/200 1/301_preg.Html

perhaps the best way forward would be to contact your doctor and discuss this situation with him. I am a great believer of homeopathic medicine and would suggest booking a consultation to discuss this matter with them as another option for treatment. If you are in the uk, helios in tunbridge wells, kent is really good and doesn't cost a fortune. They have helped me beyond anything the doctors could offer.

Good luck and keep us posted!
Xx
