Hi.

I just found out I was pregnant over the weekend and then this morning I had to have a root canal.

I was just wondering if there is anything I can take for pain. Is it safe to take tylonol or advil?

I think they say advil is okay, I wouldnt take it until I know for sure. Tylenol can always be taken when preg.

My sister had two root canals a little while back but she was in her second trimester. Talk to your doctor. The dentist wont give you anything unless you have a note from you obgyn. My sister did end up taking meds, talk to your doctor before you take anything just to make sure. They are always coming up with new stuff.

I found out I was pregnant because I needed x-rays at the dentist and they wouldn't do them till I knew for sure if I was or not. Then when I told them I was they said they would not do my root canal untill after I had given birth. You need x-rays and stuff for those which are extremelly dangerous for the fetus especially during the first tri.

I was supposed to go for my root canal last month after the birth of my son and I put it off.-lol I think i'll wait till I go back to work next may. Gimme and excuse to take some time off-lol
