How Long Should I Wait?
Posted: 08-08-05 15:38pm

Hello everyone, my husband and I had sex about 2 weeks ago... Within the last week I have felt sick to my stomach. I have not vomited yet, I only feel like I could. I have had headaches on and off.. I am now 2 days late on my period. Do you think I should test now or wait?

You can test...But I would wait until a day or two after your period should be over...And test maybe 3 or 4 times.. I know a few ppl that had 3 negatives and the last be a positive.... I don't really know tho, i've never been pregnant so these ladies might know better...This is just what i've read and what my aunts say (they are nurses)

Thank you for your reply to my post. I am now 3 days late. I have been feeling sick now for about a week and half or so. I just feel like I need to vomit, but I can't. I have had some cramps but not like period cramps. I want to test but I know that it will be best for me to wait so I can get a more accurate result. If anyone has any coments please let me know.. Thank you

Definitely test now. You can test the first day you miss your period... No need to wait until after your period should of ended.

Buy a test box that has 2 tests in it. This way if it comes up negative right now, you can use the 2nd test to test in a week. If the 1st one comes up positive, you can test again with the 2nd one, to double check.

Go out tonight if you can! Can't wait to see the results!

Well, I tested on the 8th and it was neg.. I tested again this morning and it was neg.(the 10th) I still havent started my period, I am still feeling like I need to pewk, I am having headaches, using the bathroom alot and my urine smells a little funny. And I have some on and off cramps but, they dont feel like period cramps... I am just wondering if I tested too soon. I mean, I am always on schedule with my period but I have one more test in my box so I will test probably monday... I just don't understand why i'm so late if i'm not preg. I mean, I am always on schedule... Maybe I am and just don't have enought hcg in my urine yet. I'll reply when I find out whats going on.:)

You can go to the doc and do a blood test...If you don't have insurance there are health clinics you can go to that willl do it free..Just have to check around...They aren't scary...They just take a little blood and it doesn't hurt at all.

Hi,

i feel I have said this one million times. First they are not 100% accurate. Some women never pass tthe urine test. Some women have to wait awhile longer for test to show up. I had to wait 3 weeks after missed period, that was 20 yrs ago. But my daughter also had to wait for 3 weeks after her missed period, that was only 2 years ago. She took like 5 tests at different times before it came out she was 7 weeks preg(from lmp)

The date I supposedly conceived is during my period, so if you conceived then, you could be a few weeks pregnant it sounds like. My friend who also had her baby this past june, said she had her period right after she conceived, it could've been heavy implantation bleeding, but she definately thought it was her period. The test I used was the digital "pregnant" "not pregnant" test and although I was then 6 weeks and didn't realize I was that far, it changed pretty quickly and was so much easier to read than the little double lines. Ept just made a digital one now too. I went to the doctor and got a urine test and blood work without insurance and it was 105 all together. I'd reccommend if you've got the feeling that you are, just go to the doctor and get the tests run because they can figure it out much faster than going to the bathroom on a strip haha. Anyway, keep us posted!

Test now. First responce allows you to test 4 days before your expected period. It is very accurate. I used it on the day of my missed period. If it comes out false then you can try again in a few days.

Good luck!!
