Confused And Worried.
Posted: 08-09-05 22:58pm

I had unprotected sex last week. I was not sure when I was supposed to start my period, but I assumed it was coming up. There was no condom, so I assume he used the pull-out method (which really doesn't count) but I was um... Drunk, and i'm not totally sure.

I started my period last night, but instead of my usual period (which is very thick, dark, and heavy) i'm having a very light, bright-red period.

I'm really worried, should I be? In the back of my head, I keep thinking there's something different (my body is like, freaking out on me). When is the soonest I can take a pregnancy test? Which test do you suggest?

Should I disregard my feelings since I am having a period?

You know you body better then anyone.

Give me step b step what happened. When was you last normal period when you ovulated and thus when you had unprotected sex. Then we can determine if you could be preggo.

My last normal period was probably the middle of last month, my sister and I have our periods around the same time and now i'm learning my sister isn't even on her period yet. (though, in all honesty she totally could be and I don't notice, if I asked her she'd ask me why I wanted to know... And my family does so not need to know about this right now)

this morning I woke up and my period completely stopped, and at this point normally, it'd be really heavy. There was just brown blood on the very tip of my tampon.

Even stress and diet has always had me with a normal period, so i'm not at all sure why it's weird now.

If it were last week you will have to wait about 2 weeks for test, then if neg and still no "normal" period try again in another week. Sounds like you might be though. Changing hormones are so strange, and different for every woman.

Does anyone have a suggestion of which test I should buy? I'm totally new to this whole thing, and honestly at this point in my life (starting college) I really didn't think that something like this would happen to me... =_=

They say first response is best. I think 4 days be4 missed period. But remember all preg different as are all women. So a few tests a week apart or your period coming, will tell the truth. Me and my daughter had too wait until 3 weeks after missed period to find out on the tests. I understand 22 years between us but still the same even with medical advancement.

First response is great, I used it and it works up to 5 days before your period is to show. If not ept is also another great one, but this one is only able to pick up the preg hormone right on or after yor period is to show

Ept is a good one also. I took that one like 9 days later and it came out positive. That was even before I was to start my period. The when time for period to come, I had all the symptoms of starting my period and I bled just like you did. Only I don't think I did a whole day.

Good luck!!

It could have been. I just know they listed 2 that were accessible to me and early--with least amount of hormone. They also mentioned first response but too expensive for me.

So the cvs bran actually picks up the hormone if the hcg levels are low

I suggest that you just go to the doctor for the best results possible.

Sorry for the double posting...

Last night I couldn't sleep because of horrible nausea, this morning it lasted 'til about 10am, then went away and came back with some cramps. I went to the bathroom and noticed I was bleeding, not a lot of blood, but it was fresh and pretty red.

It only lasted for about 20 minutes.

Is this normal? I'm starting to hope maybe this is a sign my period's just wonky and i'm not pregnant, but I really am confused.

They say implantation bleedin occurs in some women I had it only once with my second child way after I found out I was pregnant. The doct just said not to worry it was implantation bleeding. For some it can happen just when you would of been expecting you period. Take and test and see. I hear the cvs brand is an excellent choice
