lack of coordination , slurred speech, numbness on left side Posted: 11-23-03 23:10pm
For most of my life, I have been a
perfectly healthy active young adult.
About 1 1/2 years ago, I started
experiencing health problems. I was
diagnosed with svt,hbp,polycistic ovarion
syndrome, and spine degenrative disease.
I also have migranes (was diagnosed in my
early 20's with this). I am now 34.
I started having numbness and tingleness
on left side of body with sharp stabbing
pains throughout my head. I noticed lack
of coordination, slurred speech, and a
heaviness in both arms.
Early in december of 2002 they ruled out a
stroke, heart attack, thryoidism, ms,
tumor on adrenal gland, hormonal and
vitamin deffeciencys. I have had 2 mri's
and 3 cat scans done of the brain, 1 mri
done on the spine, evoked potential test,
and an eeg. All were normal except the
mri on spine showing some arthritis and
degeneration in the spine.
In march of 2003, my symptoms started
getting worse. All symptoms increased,
listed above. Plus I started
experiencing extreme dizziness, almost to
the point of passing out.
My primary, cardiologist, and specialist
cardiologist, all believed it was
increased symptoms due to the svt.
Switching of medications, seem to have
brought the bp down , and the heart rate
down.
2 weeks ago, I started questioning if
these symptoms are really to do with the
heart. I started experiencing extreme
numbness throughout many different areas
of my body, prodimantly on left side of
upper body. A lot of muscle twitching,
especially in the face, but all over.
Stabbing pains, throughout my body, and
extremely painful in areas of my head for
a few seconds at a time, often througout
the day. Vision dims and then brightens
back up. Now over the last few days, from
my lower base of skull down my spine, I
have this cold..Burning...Zapping
sensation...Especially when I move my head
foward.
My primary, wants me back to the
neuroligist..He says it sounds if
something is going on with the cns. He
couldn't do anything else for me.
He even mentioned it could probably still
be ms. I thought we ruled that out. I
don't know what is going on with my
physical body...But it seems like there
are no answers. This is difficult. Can
anyone help?
