22 Weeks Pregnant With First And Worried About Abnormal Pain
Posted: 11-24-03 03:13am

Hello. I am 22 weeks pregnant and worried about these extreme pains that I have been having in my tailbone. At certain times it is excrutiating for a second. I don't really have anyone to ask about this. I am in the military stationed overseas, and the healthcare here sucks badly. This is my first child so as you can imagine I have tons of concerns. If you have any info at all that could help, or if you just want to compare and talk please write me back.

Kaconn.
When I was pregnant with my son (who is 3 now) I had bad pains in my tailbone and just below it, kind of to the right. I was told it is a nerve that the baby is sitting on and pinching which causes the pain and which is why it does not hurt sometimes and hurts badly at other times, because the baby moves and accidently sits on it or pushes against it. I forget the spelling but it is something like sciatic (psy-attic) nerve. You might be able to find some info online about this and hopefully my story helps ease your fears a little! The pain I had did not hurt my baby at all and I had a healthy boy who was born on his due date, I am sure everything will be fine with you! Best of luck! Keep us posted,
