Im New Here And I Find All This Advice Fantastic Posted: 08-14-05 09:15am
Hi everyone,
i have been reading the post here, I
myself have had anxiety attacks
palpitation sleepless knights and a
thought process that just went of the
scales worrying to much always looking at
the worst case scenario.
I used to be a fit active lad, the type of
lad that would play football even if I had
a swollen ankle I would still play. Id
run 6 miles every other day take part in
anything. I used see the bright side of
life.
But six years ago I began to struggle and
slowly started to slip (become scared of
life, people)
i gave up on my exercise and after a while
my body started to cry as it dived into an
unhealthy state I became lethargic.
Sleepless knights which left my system in
a mess as confusion wondered in I became
erratic and almost uncontrollable with my
temper felt physically and psychologically
drained.
I had given up on life
i started to look at my life in a negative
view I tore myself apart and when I had
finished, I moved on to the world. (the
weight of the world on my shoulder) not a
good thing
i can relate to everything I have read
here in all your posts.
I feel for you all I truly do.
I have myself been to see a councillor, I
new what was wrong but I wasn't confident
enough to accept that I new and I asked to
see a psychiatrist.
My councillor asked me to explain did, my
councillor barley said anything but when
he did say those few words it made me more
confident. They cant solve anyone's
problems but they can help to logically
analyse your own situation and perhaps
assist.
I was a data communication telephony
engineer with a history in the armed
forces uk
now I wish to become a mentor as I feel it
would do myself good enabling me to give
help to others. I no it will be hard for
me very much so.
Some one said anxiety followed by
depression, that sounds right to me. I
mean with regards to myself that is.
I came across a chap that advertised on
the tv in the uk an american chap by the
name of anthony robias I believe I may of
spelt his last name wrong.
Was rather inspired by what he had to say.
He has a book out called "get the edge"
also a good read is "don't sweat the small
stuff for men simple way to minimise
stress in a competitive world" by richard
carlson. Also by the same person "don't
sweat the small stuff for men simple ways
to keep the little thing from overtaking
your life".
The last two I have read and did me the
world of good. The first one I am going
to get and I will read it.
Good luck to you all and what ever you all
do take it easy my friends ;)
ps I apologise for the length of this post
