Q: Does the Hcg Show Up In Urine When Ectopic Preg

I have heard from many sites possible not showing hcg if it's ectopic. Doesnt that mean the body and baby is not getting the hormones they need?? Is any one know if this is true.. Have you experienced this?

A few people told me hcg levels would be unusually higher if it was ectopic. A doctor told me that, but not an ob, it was just a doc in a box so they may not have known. But we were concerned because I had sharp pains and high hcg levels but turns out I was 6 weeks pregnant and had a cyst soo it was a false alarm for me thank goodness! If you're worried just call the doc. Mine fit me in 30 minutes after I called for an ultrasound.

Cannot Pass Blood Test Either--10.2 Weeks Preg
I cant even pass the blood hcg, but I am preg in my abdomen.

I have not uterus. I went in for a u/s too, and the baby should have been like 1/4 of an inch and they did not find him in the u/s either. But it is too late to tell me im not pregnant. First of all I know I am for I have all the symptoms and by now I can feel him, cuz no uterus in between us, and he is surfacing by my belly button and I can feel him. Last night I felt him push off like a swimmer going on next lap. It was so cute. He is about 1 1/2 inches and I have physically felt him moving for about 2 weeks. First time it was just like a gurgleing in the bag, but I felt it none the less.

I think I cant pass the test cuz I have no endometrium for the baby to implant and for endometrium too send the signal to my brain to trigger preduction of hcg. I do know I have plenty of progestrone in production. That is where all the symptoms come from. Asked him to run the progestrone test, needs to do the a-fetoprotein test too. They show with abdominal pregnancy. Most of them I have heard of without uterus they never know they are preg, they think its a tumer or something. Until they go into explore.

Abnormal numbers
an hcg level that increases but is less than double the previous one is considered abnormal and suspicious of an ectopic pregnancy. Pregnancies that are both low in level and slow to rise are almost certain to fail. Singleton and
vanishing twin pregnancies have a wide range of acceptable hcg levels on a given day.

Yes, ectopic can have extremely high or extremely low hcg. And 16-32 percent of all ectopic pregnancy(tubal, ovarian, and abdominal pregnancy) do not show up in the ultr sounds either

Yeah whered u learn that info
wanna hear what my notes from med term say about hcg which make u look stupid?
Placenta:
produces human chorionic gonadtropin
hcg stimulates crpus luteum for 3 mos to produce progesterone
placenta produces progesterone after 3 mos

so basically health question if you have progesterone and lots of it where the hell is the hcg? Should be there

my last hcg test was 7 weeks, and placenta was not finished developing--(to produce hcg). And I have found many sites that say the hcg in ectopic can drop completely in 2 days, it can rise and fall, it can be extremely high and can be extremely low. Viable baby or not!!! So keep researching 10,000 of medical sites about heterotopic, ectopic and abdominal pregnancy. The only ones about abdominal preg without uterus are babys who drs thought they would "kill" them with methotrexate. Unless of course you go back to the 1600, 1700, 1800's. You can find articles in the medical journals all the way back.

ectopic pregnancy
I had an ectopic pregnancy in my right fallopian tube. The bHCG did show up in my blood and urine (this is how they detected the pregnancy in the first place). The bHCG was at a low level, in a normal viable early pregnancy the bHCG rises rapidly every day (doubling in number each day) mine did not i was monitord over 4 days and each time i was monitored my bHCG level had only risen by approx 30 (when is should have been 500) the doctors assumed that it was a misscarriage although the pain on one side was unbearable and i had referred pain down one leg. on the last day it actually dropped and then rose in the same day and this is how they discovered that it was actually ectopic and not just a miscarriage. i was rushed to surgery but my tube had ruptured and i had alot of internal bleeding, i was in the operating theatre for much longer than expected and i lost my right tube. this was life threataning and i urge anyone experiencing these type of symptoms to be treated as had i have gone to the hospital weeks before hand my ectopic pregnancy would not have progressed as far and i would have had a chance of saving my fallopian tube.

ectopic
as a foot note to my reply, i have just read the person who posted this question's other posts (especially the second one) and it seems that she may need some mental health help, re: she can feel the baby 'surface in her belly button' and that she thought that she felt the baby 'push off her belly button like a swimmer' etc. this is a little disturbing. mabye fatfamily02 should perhaps google phantom pregnancy?

It is possible but VERY VERY rare. In order for this to happen, you would still need your ovaries. Basically, the egg is fertilized, but since there is no uterus, the egg will implant into any organ avaliable, such as the liver (one such case has been diagnosed)or the fallopian tube, if they are still present. This is a LIFE-THREATENING condition. Remember, the placent acts like a tumor, it will invade the organ, whichever one it decides to infiltrate, and start to grow and imbed into that organ. As the fetus grows, so does the placenta. If the placenta detaches, it can cause a massive internal hemmhorage, death of the fetus and death of the mother. It is not something to joke or brag about. This is an old post, eek, but I am responding to you because you asked a very valid question. I do believe the OP never had her ectopic twins, yes she claimed that she was pregnant with twins, who were not inside her uterus, rather in her abdomen. Now, remember "ectopic" does not just refer to tubal pregnancies, ectopic is anything outside of the uterus. I do remember that there were doctors three years ago in the hospital I work at saying that a fetus inside one woman was growing on the outside of her uterus instead of the inside. This was caused by a cesarean scar that healed improperly. She had to terminate due to the obvious risks. This is such a rare occurance that it is hardly ever heard of. I did find one link regarding it, and an ultrasound of what it looks like...here it is. It is from thefetus.net.

NOTE TO ALL PEOPLE: This is not a link to an advertising website, there are NO ads on this site. There is a graphic image of the fetus being c-sectioned out. I am not sure if the baby lived or not.
