Do You Think This Is a Gallbladder Attack? Posted: 08-15-05 07:35am
I have felt lousy for months now. Over
the past few weeks I have had spells where
I feel as though I am going to faint,
especially if I go for a walk or do a lot
of housework all at once. I started
having terrible pain on the inside of my
right shoulder blade that radiates under
my arm and into my chest. When this
happens it hurts to breathe. The first
time it happened I thought that I was
having a heart attack. I have been to the
doctor twice recently. My white blood
cell count was elevated and then went down
so the doctor assumed that it was a viral
infection. I went for tests a year ago
because I was vomiting almost every day
for no apparent reason. An ultrasound
found one large gall stone and I was told
that it most likely wouldn't ever bother
me because it was too big. I am tired of
feeling sick and being blown off. It
takes a lot for me to go to a doctor and I
get the impression that the doctor doesn't
realize that this is interfering with my
ability to live normally. What do you
think? Any input would be appreciated.
Has anyone ever had one large stone and
had attacks? Thanks

My pain felt like a heart attack also.
The hida scan proved that my gallbladder
was functioning at 20%. My advice is to
ask for a hida scan.

I had gallbladder surgery 4 months ago.
If your getting sick or having pain after
eating a fatty meal, that is a real good
indicator of gallbladder troubles. I had
been getting sick for 3/4 years after
dinner on a almost daily basis. Not till
this past january did the pain under my
right rib cage & the chest pain, etc
kick in... I ended up having chronic
cholecystitis. It was inflamed with
adhesion's all over it...& had
cholesterol polyps inside.
Personally I would recommend you see a
gastroenterologist & a general surgeon
for a consultation. My general
practitioner sent me to both... When I
saw those two dr's that's when I got the
needed tests & the needed answers.
Keep a symptom journal for both these
dr's...

Wow I'm Having the Same Exact Symptoms As Jennb Posted: 12-31-05 04:58am
Well for around seven years waking up
vomiting or feeling really nauseous
throughout the whole day was something I
had to live with until my doctor just
suggested to remove my gallbladder but was
in giving me a good percentage that the
symptoms will go away. He also told me
that I have fatty tissue in my liver as
well does anyone know what should I do.
Because i'm quite scared and don't know if
it's even worse it because most doctors
today are all about getting a quick dollar
or they want to use you as some experiment
dummy. I think it all came from fast
food. Because I wasn't properly educated
and misled and lazy that's all I eat for
really longtime now stopped for two years
but still have the same problems

Jenn, you said that you were told several
years ago that you had one large stone and
that it would not bother you. I was told
the same thing four years ago. I was told
the good thing was that the stone was so
big that it would never get stuck in a
duct. When I went on the internet, I read
that many people have gallstones and they
never bother them.
However, I have just had my gallbladder
out. Four years later, my one large stone
was now multiple stones. So my question
to you is---have you had an ultrasound or
ct scan lately? Do you still only have
one large stone?
The other test that you you should have is
the hida scan. That will show if your
gallbladder is functioning. Tell your
doctor that you want to have a hida scan.
