My wife was recently exposed to nitric
oxide gas, and now has breathing
difficulties. The doctor put her on
prednisone and inhaler therapy, but
whenever she stop the prednisone, her
symptoms get worse. Will her condition
improve?

It will most likely get better and improve
with medication... And slowly the doctor
will probably ween her off the medication
and she will be fine again. There is a
drive to breathe, called the hypoxic
drive.. And that can be slowly be fixed.
But research on hypoxic drive and you'll
have an idea of what it is. Good luck.
