Am I Still Pregant?
Posted: 08-17-05 17:47pm

I am about eight weeks pregant I think.
Last week I started bleeding it started
light and got heavy then light again but I
did noticed clots and had lots of back
pain and cramps. So I went to the dr and
took a pg test and it came to be weakly
postive. The dr checked me and said my
uterus was small and he wasnt sure if I
was still pregant so he scheduled another
appointment for two weeks and said we know
by then if I had lost it. Is there
anyway else to know before then I am
really worried? Would a pg test show up
negitive if I had lost the baby by now?
Any advice?

No your pregnancy test would still show up
positive because it is still reading the
hormones that you had when you were
pregnant.
I am so sorry but I really think you lost
the baby.. I hope im wrong but it sounds
like you miscarried.
Im sorry and good luck

I agree with fatfamily. Why on earth did
he not do an ultra sound?? What a
person.
It sounds like you miscarried and i'm
truly sorry. I hope you didn't but it
sounds like you did.

It does sound like a miscarriage .B.U.T.
We could be wrong. Your doc is a bit of
a health question for not doing a u/s I
would go back to another doc or hosp right
away. If you did miscarry and there is
stuff still inside of you it needs to be
removed sooner than 2 weeks by d&c so
as to not cause infection.
Good luck

Thank you so much. It is really hard to
deal with not just the fact that the baby
may be gone but everyone in my family
knows and all of our friends know it is
just going to hurt worse when you have
someone always asking hows the baby?!
How do you deal with this?

It is hard to deal with but you will get
through it. I had 2 miscarriages before
finally having my son in june. You;ll
probably hear this alot but everything
happens for a reason and you will have
your baby when the time is right. Do not
blame yourself for anything either.
Please take care of yourself.

Heatherjw I also had a miscarriage the
doctors called it a involentary abortion
its were the baby is miscarried but the
sac and everything is still left behind.
The blood that you mentioned and clots and
severe back bad are associated with having
a miscarriage.
I'm sorry but I think you also may of
haved one. The only think I can't
understand is why they didn't do an u/s
thats crazy. When I found out the was
pregnant the first thing my doc did was
unterurine u/s to detect the fetal
hearbeat. They was none they send me
immediately to the lab where they did
another u/s with a bigger machine that can
see a pin hole, unfortuatelt baby was not
there. They sceduled me for a d and c.
For the following day .That same night I
started bleeding very bad and my husband
rushed me to the er. I had the d and c
and everything turned out for the best.
Thinking back now I was not ready for
another child-number 3. So things do
happen for a reason. Don't dispair its
very difficult to go through. But you
will bounce right back. Unfortuately we
woman need suffer and the wrost thing is
to suffer over children. The ones we
have already and the ones that are still
waiting to be born. Please don't wait you
need to see someone that can help you now
not in two weeks. Good luck to you and
imform us

Yes, please change doctors! It is
absolutly rediculous that he did not do an
ultrasound! It does sound like you
miscarried, but only a doctor can tell you
for sure. A friend of mine was spot
bleeding at 14 weeks and they did every
test on her you could imagine to make sure
the baby was okay. Why would your doctor
not do this for you??? What if you
havent miscarried and you need to be put
on strict bedrest? Man I am just so
angry at your doctor right now!

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news. You
will get through it though. I had a
miscarriage before giving birth to my son
in july. I believe that god has a plan
for everyone!! Maybe your miscarriage was
god's way of taking something that would
have been less then perfect. This may
sound crazy but I look forward to meeting
the baby I lost in heaven someday. You
will always think of the baby you
lost...And it will always fill you with
sadness...But you will be okay. Give
yourself time to heal, then try again. I
hope that someday you'll hold your baby in
your arms!!! Good luck sweetie!!!

Hey dear,
dun feel broken down, miscarriages happen
for a reason. I am sure god didn't want u
to have a not properly formed baby but
removed ur pain and will give u another
healthy baby soon. It would help not
telling everyone but close family members
about ur prego the next time, till u cross
the 1 trimester which is like crossing the
danger zone.
Take care, coz u need to re-energize ur
body in order to have another baby soon.
Look forward to that and not sit back n
worry about the loss.
Take care dear...

I am also sorry for your loss. So you
sat and waited for the 2 weeks appt. And
then he examined or did new ultrasound??
I still cant believe he dint do one in the
beginning. That 2 weeks had to be hell.
Just add insult to injury!!
Just keep trying and it will happen when
the time is right. I had 3 miscarriages
be4 my first son. But the odds of having
more than 1 be4 a live birth is very slim.
God bless you --hope this finds you
hopeful --amidst your hurt and loss.
God bless you
joanna

Heather I am really sorry for you loss.
I can say you should give yourself time to
heal, physically and emotionally. I
would also suggest you find another Dr.
That can give you proper care and
attention. I had the same thing happen
to me last november, it was the saddest
thing, but I am now so much better. Take
care and good luck to you.
Nancy
