Want to Decommision My Penis Posted: 08-19-05 07:01am
Does anyone know the name of the
medical procedure to render the
penis sexually useless?
Essentially it would mean the removal of
sensation in the nerves of the penis so as
to prevent erection and prevent orgasm.
It would still be there to pass urine, but
nothing else.
Also,
* what's involved (eg. Time in
clinic/surgery)
* any follow-on drugs?
* any physical side-effects (drowsiness
etc)
* any psychological side-effects (eg.,
increases propensity for violence,
frustration etc) - case studies may help
this.
I know this run against 99.9% of the
population who are striving for a better
sex life - just thinking about not having
one at all. Ok, I know this would
guarantee a life of celibacy - maybe
that’s not so bad!
Thanks -meo

Dude... Oh my god... I don't even know
what to say... Your pretty much throwing
away the only true pleasure you can feel
in life... Seriously I would think long
and hard before throwing away that gift.
To talk on a more guy to guy level if you
will.... what is your problem!? Jesus
chirst its your penis! Go find some
vagina now! Aghhhhh!!

Titan - usual response - thanks.
Don't think of it as a gift nor the only
gift with life.
For the record - I have had good sex and
bad sex...Most good.
But on the whole I just don't enjoy it and
find it more trouble than it's worth. A
whole vortex of emotions that I can do
without if you are in a relationship.
One-night-stands? Forget it! And going
gay - no way!
The whole idea of 'pretty women' and this
natural attraction I have as a male to be
an incredible drain on me! I've got a
million more things to worry about than
women, relationship and growing old while
someone nags me about my faults for 30yrs
ago.
Then there's the thought of me at 60
gawking at 20yr olds - it just gets
worse.
If you want a relationship - fine - but
huge costs emotionally, financially etc.
Just want to curtail the attraction / need
for intimacy / need for sex.
And i'm starting with this damn
meat-and-two-veg!
So back to the question - procedural name
and any know side effects?
Thanks - meo

Castration is the removal of the testicles
or ovaries; sterilization.
I'm asking to keep the testicles there,
just remove the sensation - different
process.

What is it they make pedophiles take (not
to imply that you're one) but doesn't it
kill their needs and that way it's very
easy to reverse if ever you chnage your
mind.

Lil,
that is driven by deep rooted sociopathic
behaviour - and your right, it's that
level of psychosis is not what I am
looking for here.
No this is more the ramifications of
elective surgery. Only thing I can
compare to would be a healthy woman who -
for livestyle reasons - have an elective
hysterectomy.
Livestyle choice is the key word here -
not raving nutcase :-)
cheers - meo

What if you find a long term relationship,
to someone who you fall deeply in love
with, and you can't have and erection, or
intercourse?
I hope you don't plan on finding a loving
relationship if you did decide to go
through with this.
And how about just ignoring you're
erection and sensations when it is
neccessary to do so, just like every other
guy.
Maybe I am stating the obvious (or what
seems obvious to me, and i'm sure to many
other people - male or female) that taking
away all your sexual feelings is due to
have psychological effects. The sexual
feelings you have do not only occur in the
genitals, it is something you feel over
your whole body, directed by your brain.
Sure you won't feel anything in your
penis, but you sure are going to have
sexual thoughts, and when everything
doesn't link up, i'm sure you'll be quite
confused and frustrated. As to why anyone
would want to take away the pleasure of
sexual arousal and orgasm is inconcievable
to most. Maybe there is an underlying
cause as to why you don't want sex
anymore. Perhaps your are lonely,
depressed,pessimistic or apathetic or have
taken a different religious direction in
life. Maybe it is permanent, but there
could be a chance that it is only a
temporary phase you are going through.
I would certainly see a psychologist
before going through with this procedure.
I could imagine that it is required for
the most part, as there are certain
requirments to getting sex changes, or
doing any sort of major work to your
genitals.

However to answer your question, I don't
believe there is a procedure to do so.
I'm sure you are probably very interested
in this, and have tried to look up
information, and have found none. There
is no procedure that can just "shut off"
the thousands of nerve endings in your
penis, or close the vessels which engorge
your penis with blood and cause an
erection. The penis actually needs to
have erections to keep the tissue healthy.
Even if it were desensitzed, i'm sure you
would still need to have erections some
how. The only other way could be in forms
of penile mutilation, which I wouldnt
suggest, because you don't know how much
harm you could be doing. Have you thought
about having your penis removed as well as
castration? That's the closest thing I
could think of that would prevent you from
feeling any sexual pleasure. If you are
wanting to live a life of celibacy, you
should just have your full testicles and
penis removed to get rid sexual sensation.
Again to have this procedure done, it's
hard to get approved by any doctor. They
would most likely send you to a
psychologist to find out why you want this
done, and whether or not you are an
approprite candidate.. Like the truckstop
guy mentioned in the other post, I dont
think this should be a quick fix for any
of the issues you may have with sex,
emotions etc. I think what you need to
work on more is your self control. Don't
let your penis control your actions and
how you think and feel.

Meo, no one can just "have" a
hystorectomy. There has to be health
complications for many many years, before
a doctor will go to that point, so I doubt
that you'll find a doctor to do this to
you.
You'll just have to "live" with what god
gave you and deal with it the best that
you can.

As a psychiatrist, I think you are
overreacting to a minor problem. Have
you consulted a psychiatrist or
psychologist? My suggestion is rather
than exploring physical problems to render
your sexual equipment null and void, why
don't you just consciously elect to ignore
your sexual urges the best you can and
focus on other parts of your life. Stop
having sex, stop masturbating, and in
time, you'll grow more accustomed to not
using it. This is especially true if
you're older. Don't take the drastic
step of undergoing a penectomy or other
procedure to render the penis
dysfunctional.

Besides the fact I think you're completely
nuts for wanting to do that anyway, it's
extremely difficult (and expensive) to cut
off all nerve endings in the penis. And
don't forget, erections can be caused by
visual stimulation alone. The only way to
stop that would be to restrict the flow of
blood into the penis, but that in itself
could be damaging, as you'd have a hell of
a lot of blood trying to flow through a
tiny opening. Basically, I don't think it
can be done. If you have no inclination
for sex or anything like that though, you
shouldn't get erections in the first
place.

So you can figure out where this self
hatred is comming from, and if in fact you
don't have a deep psychosis that your most
likely in denile about.
If in fact there's nothing wrong with your
chemicals, which lots of things can be goin
on that your unaware of or repressing.
Take a voew of celebitcy and follow
through for 5-10 years,then
contemplate.The horrif act of geneital
mutilation.
Which i'm betting the only doctor that
would have anything to do with that would
be in a third world.Good luck with the
self control.

Women: would you want a man who could
never have sex?
