My daughter and I both had to wait until 3 weeks after missed period--on dr chart would be 7 weeks. Since they count from last period, not from actual ovulation.

All preg are different though

So 7 weeks is the best and most accurate time, you think? I have read so many people in the chats take tests that are neg and they end up being pg anyways...I wonder whats really up with that???

I took mine about 4 weeks and it came back positive. It was a faint but still a positive. I waited a week and took another and this time it came back darker. It just depends on how much pregnancy hormone you have in your body. You can take a test now and if its negative and you still feel like your pregnant wait a week or so and try again.

I agree with poohbear. I just took a pregnancy test and i'm only a couple days late. It showed faint but obviously positive. (i took the second test the next morning to be sure and it was positive). Make sure to follow the directions closely so results aren't skewed.

I think tests are so sensitive these days, you can take them whenever. I took mine at 10 dpo and it was positive.

Each woman is different. It is all based on hormones. Some women can get a positive result as early as a few days after fertilization occurs. Other may not be able to get a positive result until months later. Some even never get a positive result using a urine test.

Just keep one thing in mind. I was told by health professionals that while false negatives are common, it is not so common to get a false positive. If you get a positive result, most likely you are and should treat it as such, no matter how faint the positive result may be. If you are still unsure, wait a few days and test again, and then get it confirmed by a health agency.

If you did the test correctly, then most likely you are. A false positive is not near as common a a false negative. If you want to be sure test again in a day, or two. The result should be darker because the pregnancy hormone levels increase daily.
