Q: Could I Be Pregnant??
asked by: zanzu on August 24th, 2005

My boyfriend and I started to try and get pregnant this month. We had sex on the 19th and 20th, since I was suppose to ovulate on one of these days. For the past 2 days I have felt a mild cramping in my lower abdomen. I do not normally get these types of pains except for right before my period, which I only expect on september 12. Could this be a sign of pregnancy?? I know that some women get these pains during ovulation, but I have never experienced them before. Also, I do feel the need to urinate more frequently, but I am not sure if this is because of pregnancy or my increased water intake since I always seem to be thirsty. Is it possible that I got pregnant on my first try??

I experienced the same thing after doing the same with my bf during my two days of ovulation. Please answer zanzu's question. (however, I wasn't trying to get preg). Thanks.

Anytime you have unprotected sex there is always a change that you can get pregnant. As for the pains you are feeling...I am not sure. Keep an eye out for a spot of blood as it could indicate implantation bleeding which happens when you conceive. I would wait it out a week or so, and if you still feel strange, I would contact an ob or planned parenthool to have a doctor test for pregnancy since it may be too early for the home tests.
Good luck!

My boyfriend did not pull out the last time - he came in me. This was about a wekk to a week and a half after my so-called ovulation. I know it isn't always easy for couples who are trying to get pregnant. Would anyone know statistics for my possible chances of becoming pregnant? You assistance would be appreciated. Thank-you!

I know that positive test are much more reliable then negative test, but personally I would wait a little while and take another one or contact my doctor.

Well, I woke up today and I still feel a slight cramping. I can't explain it but I feel pregnant. However, I know that its a little too early for me to really be having these symptoms. I guess I will have to wait a couple of weeks and see whether or not I am.

My symptoms are similar to bleedinwound's. No morning sickness, but my breasts have been slightly more sensitive than they ever have been (they have never been sensitive to periods except maybe when I was 12 or 13). All I ever do is pee. And I get minor cramps and it disturbs my lower intestines like the way a period does. I had sex right during my ovulation. From the first time of my ov symptoms to the last time (2.5 days later). Are these pregancny signs? My period is technically due in 1.5-2 weeks. My last somehow came two weeks late. Are these preg signs? Thank-you!

Well, I found out that I was pregnant one week ago...Unfortunately I am going through the process of miscarrying.
But, my first signs that I may be preg was a missed cyxle and one morning I woke up and swore someone came in at night and gave me a boob job, they were larger/heavier and very achey and sore. I was urinating a lot more frequently, my back started to hurt, and I was falling asleep on the couch around lunchtime.
So, it is possible that the signs you both describe could mean pregnancy, I would check with your ob if you feel anxious. Morning sickness didn't happen for me, my mom said she didn't get it until she was 3 months along for both my brother and me. I think sickness varies for many women, some don't even get morning sickness.

Higher Basal Body Temp?
I know that one of the signs that you're preggo includes having a higher basal body temp. What does that mean and how do you check it? I have been feeling very cold for awhile - there's no getting out it. Is that a 'higher basal body temp?' thank-you!

I am pretty sure that means your normal body temp is a bit higher than usual. I never thought to take mine when I had found out I was preg. My normal body temp is 96.8, other people vary within a few degrees. But I was actually feeling very warm. My husband is always warm and never uses the comforter unless he is really cold. I knew my temp was different when he was snuggling in the comforter and I was throwing it off of me b/c I was so sweaty. Now I feel normal since I am miscarrying. My boob shrank back, and I just don't "feel" preg. It is hard to explain, but if you "feel" preg then you could be. I never was preg before but something told me I "felt" preg. A bit too abstract for my contemplation. I would google that bbt and see what you find.

Could I Be Pregnant
Have been feeling the need to urinate more than usual, and also feeling a bit tired, usually when am expecting my period, i get a lower abdomen cramps and very tender breast, am never late with my period, which was meant to start today but nothing, also when I urinate, I get a sensationally or tingly feeling at the end, no burning or anything just that feeling at the end, which have never had before. My breast are very tender.
Is a pregnancy symptom similar to menstrual period?
What could be going on?

You could have a urinary tract infection. Those can cause the tingle and the need to urinate more frequently.

Pregnancy symptoms are similar to PMS. The only way to know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test.
