Positive Partner Negative Partner

My partner is positive. We have been together for 5 months. I had a hiv test two weeks ago and it was neg. We do not use condoms. When engaged in oral sex I have been exposed to his pre-cum. Prior to ejaculation he pulls out. I also have been exposed to his cum on a few occ. Is there a chance of infection? How long does it take for a test to come back positive?

Did you know ahead of time, or just found out??

They say some pple can never get it. But something anywhere from 6 weeks to 1.5 years before you create antibodies(test pos for hiv), could be 15 years before you actually get aids.

When I went in with high risk they said come back in 6 months then again in a year--that is where I get 6 weeks to 1.5 years. This was in the late 80's early 90's

Fat:

we're now living in a new milenium. Drugs are different compared to the 80/90's, testing is different, the scope of the disease is treated differently. Please use caution when instilling fear in individuals which differs from the information provided and suggested by the cdc. Too many doctors, along with patients are totally unware of the realities of hiv and testing.

Stick to the career you know!

Carl mind your own business, that is what I have been told by medical journals and internet searching and the medical professionals. Just like they say it is only tissue--about an abortion, like they say if it is out of the uterus it is not viable pregnancy, when report after report has proved them wrong, just like the morning after pill is not abortion, but causes the already fetilized egg to "not be able to implant" to grow or live, but its not abortion.

This frreakin forum is not for drs any way it is for the ordinary pple to give their opinion, and what "they have experienced"--and to me- yours is not welcome why being rude to me. I can tell my experience as well as anyone else. And for your information my last aids test was 3 years ago. They told me to come back again if it is a high risk situation just like be4.

Remember "there are no set facts in science"

You are engaging in high risk behaviour by not using protection with your hiv + partner. There is a good chance of infection, if you have any type of intercourse. They are not so sure about oral sex. If you have an open wound in your mouth then it is risky. The have also been researching the permeability of the virus to the squamous tissue cells in the back of your throat. The virus may be able to enter your blood stream there, however they are unsure. The antibodies for hiv take approximately 13 weeks to show in a standard hiv test.
Please use protection anytime you have sexual activities with your partner. Get tested again so you know your status, and get tested on a regular basis if you do stay with this partner. If you have only been with him for 5 months, who knows how long the relationship will last. It's not worth getting hiv over. Hiv/aids is serious, and you are playing russian roulette with your life.

I agree! It's time that you stop taking chances.
