i was supose to get my period a week and a day ago today. I heard alot about how you can spot while your pregnant, and I don't know if it's just spotting, if I am pregnant or if I got my period late. Is it normal to your period a week late, even if you have been on birth control for years and your cycle has been consistant and never missed a period? Somebody please help me!!

Well before I vote in your poll lol, are you still on birth control? If not, did you just recently get off of it? Have you been more stress out than usual?

No I am currently still on birth control. I take ortho tri cyclene, and recently, I have been a little more stressed than usual. I started a new job recently and have some other things on my mind.

Sorry if it seems like I am asking alot of questions, just its very hard to help a person out when you dont know all the info hehe.

With you being on birth control, I would say that stress could be what is delaying your period. Do you feel like your showing any other pregnancy symptoms? Tender breasts, more frequent urination? I am also a very very regular and I had one delayed period due to stress, when an ex bf had broken up with me. What kind of bleeding are you having now? Have you tried taking an hpt?

Well, i've been eating and been hungry alot more, irritability has been a little higher. I've been urinatating just a little more. No tender breasts. This morning I was having light bleeding. Right now, it's not has heavy as a normal period. I've had really bad stress for years, and it has never effected my period. So i'm really worried. I haven't taken a hpt because I didnt know how long I had to wait to take it.

You can buy a pack of 2 hpts, try taking one now, and if that comes back negative, take another in a week or 2.

The reason why it would be important for you to find out now is because you want to stop taking your pill asap if you are indeed pregnant. Maybe schedule an apt with your doctor and let her know what your going through. She will probably do a blood test for you, to determine if your pregnant and if you need to get off your birth control.

What would be the best test to choose since its only been a week and a half since I missed my period. If I was on birth control, and on bc doesn't your period only last 5 to 6 days? Why would I be bleeding now? Also, what would the bc do if I was pregnant and didnt' stop taking it? Somebody please help me!!
