Hi everyone, please take the time to read
this because im not hitting you with my
problem, but I just wanted to offer a bit
of advice based on my own experiences of
anxiety. Take the time to absorb it
because it has been working really well
for me the last 3-6 months and its a
combination of several things:
firstly: you have to understand that you
are not dying or going crazy. Anxiety is
something your mind has "learned" through
being stimulated with worry/stress all the
time. If you go through a period of bad
times like stress or loss of a loved one
you keep stimulating yourself in an
anxious way and over time (without u
realising it) this anxiety level becomes
"normal" for your brain.
What happens then is you worry about more
things and you research symptoms of
anxiety. I know from personal experience
that this makes u feel safe at the time,
because u see that you arent the only one
suffering but by thinking about and
talking about your anxiety all the time,
all you are doing is continuing to
stimulate it. So instead, try and resist
researching the net for info on anxiety,
try and forget about it and focus on other
things in your life. Set yourself a new
challenge or hobby.
Secondly: self confidence/esteem plays a
massive role in people who suffer with
anxiety. In many cases and certainly my
case, someone who is anxious is someone
who is lacking in the areas of confidence
and self esteem. So to help correct
this, try and socialise a bit more or just
do subtle things like improving your
appearance so that you feel good about
yourself in day to day life.
Thirdly: keeping your mind and body active
seriously helps anxiety fade away. So
think about joining a fitness centre, gym,
or excercise classes. It helps
enormously. Dont just think about it, do
it. When you excercise u realease
endorphins into the brain which makes you
feel good and will help you kick anxiety
(and also depression that often comes with
it) into touch.
So basically my tip is look at the 3
things I have mentioned, try and implement
them in your life, stick to it and im
confident you will see huge improvements
after a few months. I have.
See how you go. Good luck guys you will
get there!

I read something the other day about
anxiety that really opened my eyes and
made me think. It simply said that, your
mind does not know that the things you are
thinking are not real. Even if imagined,
you mind does not know the diff and will
respond as though the things you are
thinking are really happening. Just
thought I would share.

Great advice. Agree completely. I suffer
the worst when sitting alone thinking
about it, when I am with friends watching
movies or talking I almost forget I am
sick with anxiety.
That part about the brain not knowing the
difference between whether thoughts are
real or not is bizarre.. Wow.
