Diagnosed With Dysthymia Posted: 08-28-05 17:00pm
Hi all
is there anybody else out there with
dysthymia? From a very early age I knew I
was different from other people I just
thought I was quiet at first. I have
suffered with severe depression on a few
occasions and have beeen on different
meds. I am now 39 and have just been
diagnosed with this illness. When I
checked out some information on the web it
was as if I had wrote the symptons. Has
anybody else found out later on in there
life, would be nice to hear from you.
Bye 4 now

dysthmia is very mild depression...We call
it the "blahs". This is a mild mental
disorder, not an illness. Most
dysthymics are fine without medication.
You need to stop feeling sorry for
yourself, take control of your life, and
move beyond your feelings. Your life
must be lacking in certain areas, so work
to fill those voids and make your life
full again.
Dysthymia is not a mental illness; it's a
mild mental disorder and I never prescribe
meds to my patients with dysthymia.
