Yet Another "do I Have It"
Posted: 08-28-05 20:02pm

I hate to add to the already numerous posts like this...

But over the past few months things have become more and more, well, strange in my head.

I have been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and am medicated, have had therepy, and hospitalization for a suicide attempt.

I'm currently on lithium and lamictal for it, and also on a dose of seroquel for sleeping.

I've always had some strange things going on in my head (i hear on a higher frequency than others, like a dog, so i've always heard noises no one else could) but things have gotten much stranger recently.

I see things move and blur out of the corner of my eye, and also in my straighter field of vision. Things jump and move when i'm fully concious, not sleepy or anything. I've had my vision do strange things, like flash to straight static for a moment, or flash to a room of varying designs each time. I have my vision go pixelated, like a computer or tv screen is.

Things move in general...Objects move around, things blur or shift. I see shadows move and become things..

I can sometimes see auras or something on people, or just something additional around or about then that I know isnt' there.

I can feel presences or god knows what very strongly...Where they are, their moods, etc.

I also can get quite paranoid...When I see people talking and they even glance at me, I think they're talking about me. And with lovers/boyfriends/girlfriends I get paranoid about every glance to another, references, thinking they're cheating...I never say anything though I come through to them as calm and trusting. But I worry myself to hell. That there's someone else, or they don't mean what they say to me, that something's wrong.

I've heard noises other than the high pitched ones...Thinking i'm hearing a knocking or a beeping or clicking but when I turn off all sounds to check there isn't anything...Sometimes other sounds too.

I know there's more but I can't remember any...That's another thing my memory is incredibly patchy. My short term is shot to hell and my entire life it patchy, my doctor told me that meant I have repressed memories but I don't think so.

Sorry that's long...But I don't want to go to a doctor just yet because I don't want to be on any more medication. I just want to know if it even sounds seriously like it...Thank you for any time and advice.

The best thing would be to tell your doctor these things. Seroquel is an antipsychotic and should help you with hallucinations. If it doesn't maybe your doc can just up the doseage a little.

I understand what you mean about when people who are talking look at you and it makes you paranoid. The exact same thing happens to me too. It's very unnerving.

If you have bi-polar symptoms, then schizophrenia is out, it would have to be more like schizo-affective disorder. But thats just my opinion, i'm not a doctor. If you want to get properly diagnosed tell your doc all your symptoms.

Hallucinations or is it the seventh senses?

At this point doctors diagnose hallucinations as either a symptom or an illness. I'm starting to believe it is a higher form of the senses like having another sense. People that have it, does not know how to live with it, seeing your innerself expose in the light. That is why it became more negative than positive, an illness than a gift.
