Dlp - sorry to hear that your company does
not offer a dental benefits plan. The
good news is that you have a number of
affordable dental options.
First if you company has 10 or more
full-time employees suggest to your hr
contact to put in a dental plan. A
business does not have to "pay" for their
employees they may offer the coverage on a
voluntary basis. Meaning that employeees
pay for the service themselves but beacuse
you are insuring a group of people the
insurance plan will cost less and have
better benefits at lower costs. You may
refer to the voluntary infomation on
website: nebrokers com
second I would recommend looking for an
association dental plan you may be
eligible for. Association plan have low
rates and fewer limitations then
individual dental plans. You should be
able to find a plan for yourself and your
husband for under $40 a month.
A dental discount plan is another good low
cost option. To see how a card works see
website- nebrokers com
finally talk to a dentist in person
explain them your situation and let them
know you are going to be paying cash for
the procedure out of your own pocket.
Sell the dentist on the benefit that they
will not have to go thru an insurance
payment and kindly request that they pass
on the "network" savings to you for paying
out of pocket. Most dentist are
understanding and this proves to be a win
win.
Hope this helps

Ok, I know that some people are nervous
about doing this, but any university that
has med school offers a significantly
discounted rate for dental work performed
by dental students under the supervision
of an actual doctor. You may have to pay
like 15 bucks for a filling, 25 for an
extraction...Etc.... You may want to look
into that.

I Believe That This Is the Best Option, Period! Posted: 09-08-06 03:26am
Having no coverage myself, I was searching
for the cheapest dental plans I could find
and I came across this one:
i'm going to apply the first of next
month. See if it's right for you and ill
let you know how it goes for me.
