I Skipped My Period And Now What???
Posted: 08-31-05 19:18pm

Okay so im on the patch, and I wear a patch for three weeks then one week off and then back to the three weeks. Well I accidently put a fourth one on, and now the week is over and I have taken it off to have my period...But no period yet...Just lots of cramping. Has anyone else done this? I feel sick and it scares me. The doctor told me it was fine, and that I should spot and have a period like normal. But will my body think its pregnant? Will there be morning sickness? Ahh im freaked, what do you know. Help!

Ahh I wouldnt worry about it, I was on the patch for two years and afte like 4 months of being on it, I would literally plan when my period best fit my scheduale by just keeping my patches replaced for more or less weeks. And I never had problems with my period starting till I got off of it. Mine usually started 5 days after I took it off. I really think your fine, the only thing I ever worried about when I did that, is the third week, if I had unprotected sex (i always used a backup) that third week before my period, I would worry, but nothing ever came out of it..Luckly I think...Lol I think your fine hun.

You probably just threw your body for a loop. I've skipped many times...Wouldn't worry about it. There shouldn't be morning sickness, they may have just meant you may have a little nausea from the additional week on the patch. Birth control in general tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant so that you don't ovulate - this was there isn't a chance of becoming pregnant. Isn't it cool that birth control can do that?! :)
