Mommy to Be... Scared to Death! Posted: 09-01-05 15:12pm
Hi everyone i'm rahcael... I joind a few
days ago and I really need some advice.
My serious boyfriend and I are having a
baby. I'm 2 months and 2 weeks along and
when I went to teh doctor yesterday my
doctor told me that I am at a high risk
for a miscarage... I have really sharp
pains in my side and my lower stomach.
But my boyfirned is so exited to be a
father he's allready started painting the
baby's room... We live together so this
is easy for him to do... He told me last
night that he feels compleate now, all
tahts left is our marage which isn't
untill may of next year but we are still
exited. He says that he has wanted a baby
for the longest time and he wouldn't know
what to do if something were to happen to
his baby or me... Well I want to tell him
that the doctor says theres a 70 percent
chance this baby wont live but I dont want
to hurt him and I deffinitly dont want to
scare him into an extreemly over
protective state specialy if it all comes
out ok in the end... What should I do?
Any ideas?

Why would he tell you thet. So pains in
pregnancy are normal. Dont fall into
that and sit and think your going to
loose. Just tell yourself that it will
be fine. Dumb 70% chance youll loose
it, get another Dr. He should be trying
to help you not loose it, not telling you
something like that. Dumb

Your doctor is an fool, why give you that
kind of news, what does he base it on.
Just shear opinion b/c you are
experiencing some cramps. Did he do
blood work to check your hcg and
pergestrone levels. At 2 months and 2
weeks you said, you are almost of of the
danger zone. If you need it they should
put you on pergesterone suppositories to
elevate your pergesterone.

I suggest you get another opinion. Our
dr's or ob should be our ally and closest
friend in this very important part of our
life. Dr's are there to give
encouragement and if they forsee any
problem should help to correct it either
by advising ways or steps to take extra
care of yourself and the baby or prescribe
you a medicine that will ease the pain and
help you in anyway in order to carry the
baby to full term.

I Understand What U Mean! Posted: 09-02-05 00:54am
Hey gal!
Dun be hanged or alarmed with the dr's
news. Some doctors dun know how to talk
to a lady who is pregnant or show some
sympathy or care. They are just doing
their job with no feeling towards
patients.
When I had my miscarriage last year, the
guy doc was very understanding and he told
me everything I need to know in detail.
And he was willing to let me have more
tests to confirm that my blood count was
dropping/decreasing before I do a d&c.
He waited to make sure that I am aware of
it and consent to it.
But the nurses in the ward where I was
admitted were bloody blunt with their
words. They saw me like a meat waiting to
be chopped, only a matter of time. There
are people out there with no feelings and
just doing their job for a fat pay. Dun
get disturbed by these people who have
nothing to gain or lose from us. Only we
gain or loose our baby. So u decide!
Ur decision must come from a clear head
and not just worry. U know ur body better
than others. U should know whether ur
baby is struggling to live or is enjoying
his/her stay inside u.
When I went through alot of pain at 2
months, I realised that I had to do it,
becoz the baby was dead and the blood
count was dropping very fast. They had to
do the d&c to avoid infection for me,
that would danger my life.
Now I got over it.... And am trying for
another baby. So dun feel upset. If it
is bad news, then it is meant to be for
the good of u and the baby...
Take care,
let me know ur progress.....
With love....

Hey guys thank you so much!!! I have a
new doctor and he is still a little
concerned but he said the same thing that
much of you did... My previous doctor was
out of line to say that with out the
proper tests... Any way the baby is fine
as far as I know and I am ever happier...
I did tell my boyfriend and he was really
scared but he was so glad that I told him
because he said that he can help me be
carefull... Is it possible to have this
great of a man...
How did all of your signifcant others deal
when you told them you were pregnant???

Having high blood pressure or diabetes can
also put you at high risk 4 a
miscarriage.It seems like anything can
these days.
