Maybe you all can give me some insight on how your first doc appointment went? Maybe I had too high of expectations?
First off, I showed up at the front desk. The receptionist asked me the date of my last menstrual period. I told then june 30th, but it was very irregular. Then she asks me "is there a chance you could be pregnant?"
....
Um hello???? I told her, yes, I am pregnant, which is why I am here. Shes like, oh it doesnt say that by your appointment, are you sure you told the receptionist you were pregnant? I am like, yes... That is the reason why I am here!
So they gave me a urine test to confirm my pregnancy. Yes, I am indeed pregnant lol. They gave me a papsmear and told me I had a small yeast infection. They did an internal exam and said "yep, you feel to be around the 9 week mark". She looks at her little calander thing and says "you due date would be around april 8th or so".
And that was it lol. She gave me pre-natal vitamins and paper work to go get the manditory bloodwork done.. But that was it!
I asked her, okay, so my last period was irregular, can you tell me for sure how far along I am??? (which was the whole point of this visit in the first place). She tells me no, that I have to make an appointment with their other office, because they have the sonogram equipment. Now, couldnt someone have told me that when I called in the first place asking for a sonogram? I would of just made the appointment at the other office in the first place???
So now I have an appointment for a sonogram on tuesday, sept. 6th at 3:00pm.
It is just so disappointing to go to a doctor and have them tell you everything you already know... I guess the receptionist didnt write down any information I gave her on the phone, like wanting a sonogram, my last period, and of course, the fact that I was pregnant lol.
Did the doctor really expect me to walk away happy with a general idea of how far along I was and a general idea of my due date??
