My Mri Scan Report - Any Advice Appreciated ! Posted: 09-05-05 01:50am
Hi good morning ,
mri report ! ( copy of my mri report )
mri scan shows a diffuse disc bulge at
l4/5 indenting the dural sac but not
causing any nerve root compression. The two
lower discs show high intensity zones .The
spinal canal is spacious.
.
Looking for some advice if possible anyone
with similar symptom's, I have suffered
from back /leg pain for many years now and
more recently 2/3 years constant leg
weakness & feet feeling as thou they
are burning / nipping , legs feling tired
etc , I was slightly bemused as to the not
causing nerve root compression as my feet
are constantly burning / nipping , I do
exersize and do much all the things
advised to combat back pain , due to
exersize I have very little back pain
although constant leg / feet weakness !
Where do I go from here back to the
doctor/specialist ,i would be willing to
go for surgery and feel this could be
repaired as 90% of my problems seem to be
due to nerve compression causing pain in
legs & feet !
Any advice or info regarding any of the
above would be gratefully appreciated and
also if anyone would like any info/advice
on my experiences regarding back symptoms,
meeting's with doctor etc please give me
an e-mail
many thanks & best regards !

this your problem I have the same thing in
my neck and "i know it does press on nerve
root" sometimes. They told me same thing
on mri of my neck. Exact same words. I
have a crushed disc(that bulges) there and
it presses on my stuff get a really
strange feeling, horrible headache and my
arms dont work when it is pressing.
Weakness severe in my arms. The pressing
makes me feel kinda like a seizure and all
I can do is go to bed. Ifeel it coming
on, be4 iit gets too hard. I also have
leg weakness, my legs are 1/2 paralyzed.
No pereneal nerve signal to my brain or
back down. From sponylolithesis, l5/s1,
and 4 more comproimised discs in my back.
With severe nerve damage there.

I had an injury on 1/5/05. I fell on
both knees while twisting on concrete.
Could barely walk until surgery on right
knee 5/11 and left on 7/13. Back started
hurting almost immediately after fall.
Had mri which showed bulging disks between
l3/l4 & l4/l5. Os said mri didn't
show nerve compression although I am
having severe shooting pains down left
buttock and left leg intermittently.
Sometimes to knee sometimes to toes.
Sore to touch on buttocks and low back.
Os said he wouldn't do surgery now, but
would recommend another mri in 1 yr. To
see where I am at on pain.
I had a lumbar epidural of depo-medrol 17
days ago. 95% say it doesn't hurt, well
it only stung with numbing injection, a
little discomfort w/contrast die
injections and severe pain to toes on left
with depo-medrol, which lasted about 2
minutes! Anaesthesiologist said it hurt
because he injected it right next to
nerve. Said should feel better in 4-5
days. If anything I feel worse. Right
side was never hurting until today. Now
both sides hurt. Am scheduled for
another one on the 30th. Scared to
death.
My mother-n-law had one 1 week after me
and felt no pain, and instant relief.
You're symptoms sound so familiar to mine.
Maybe your mri didn't show everything.
I know my mri on my knee didn't. They
aren't perfect. I do think a
chiropractor would help. My husband has
seen one for same symptoms. It took
about 6 months of visits of 3 a week for 1
week, then 2 a week for about 2 weeks,
then 1 a week for rest. Finally went
away and has stayed gone for years.
