Is it safe to take an occasional tylenol? I had a really bad headache yesterday and felt like total crap and took just one, but now i'm concerned about it.

Totally Safe
In the last few wekks of my first pregnacy I was feeeling crappy, and my doctor told me it's totally safe to take the full dose if I wanted to.
As long as you don't go over the stated dose, or take them more regularly than the directions say, you are totally fine.

It's asprin you shouldn't take at all.

Hope this helps- he also told me that it was safe to be taking the full doese, as per the directions for more than a few days without harming the baby.

Dont take any type of ib profen or motrin. Any anti-inflamitory will cause birth defects. Tylenol is fine.

What Do You Do When Tylenol Is Not Working
There is a strong possibility that I am pregnant. I am currently waiting on the results from the doctor, but at the same time I am experiencing some of the worst toothaches that I have ever had, plus I have a awful metallic taste in my mouth that wont go away. Everyone is telling me that it is ok to take tylenol, but that does not seem to be helping me with regards to the pain in my mouth. I am desperate to take some sort of pain killer but I know that I should not be taking any ibuprophen right now. Is there something that I can take to make this pain go away that is not harmful to me if it turns out that I am in fact pregnant? Please help me.

as a doctor I must advise you to ask a doctor (ob/gyn) for advice,
anyone asking for important medical advise on-line is asking for trouble!!

Rolling Eyes anti-inflammatories do not cause birth defects!
They cause bleeding problems which can cause fetal death (not birth defects)!
P.S. Check the medical literature

lol bs

you can actually take an medication with approval of a dr, it doesnt cause birth defects it does the same thing as tylenol thins your blood as is a anti-inflammtory. The only thing I read about advil is it can prolong a pregnancy if taken in the third trimester as per medical books!

There was a refernce in the older books as to when taking advil in the first trimester could possibly cause birth defect but the studies now have shown different!

I always wonder why guests take all the time to go through all the old posts &then reply to them. Especially when they are doctors &said that asking for advice online is a bad idea. Lol.
