i have a question for anyone who has an
answer. I have been on the pill
lo-estrin for the last year, after the
birth of my second child, and have been
recently experiencing pregnancy symptoms.
I have been taking the pill regularly, I
had sex with my ex-husband on october 12,
2003, (for the first time since we
seperated six months ago), and about two
weeks after that I had some spotting on
the day my period was supposed to start,
and then a couple of days later I had some
more spotting and then nothing else.
This month my period was supposed to start
on november 24, 2003 and nothing has
happened. I did not resume taking the
pill after I had the spotting, because I
thought I could be pregnant. Around the
time of the spotting, I started feeling
nauseous, and my breasts started to become
tender, and this was before I was to start
taking the next cycle of pills, and to
date I am still experiencing these
symptoms, plus now I noticed, I have to
pee all the time. I have taken a couple
of hpts, but they have come back negative.
By calculations I should be about 4
weeks, if I am. Does anyone think I
could be pregant or just experiencing the
symptoms from not taking the pill anymore.

Hi, yeah you could quite possibly be
pregnant, as you said you are experiencing
3 of the most common pregnancy symptoms 1.
Absent period 2. Sore breasts 3.
Frequent urination. And as we are all
well aware, the pill is not 100%
effective. The fact that your hpt tests
came up negative may be due to the fact
that it is so early, your hcg levels may
not be detectable by a home test yet.
Your doctor would use a much more
sensitive test, and could possibly detect
the hormone earlier than a home test. I
don't blame you at all for not wanting to
wait another 2 weeks to find out. I would
go crazy. Is it possible for you to see
your doctor earlier and ask for a blood
test ? They are much more accurate than
any other test, and you would have the
results back within a day or so. You can
take a blood test to confirm pregnancy
anytime from about 8 - 12 days after
intercourse took place.
